Sero sat alone in the back of a classroom. His knees were pulled up to his chest as his eyes filled with tears. Why did this have to happen? It was supposed to be a good day, not a stressful one. He wanted to cry or scream or just curl up into a ball and die.

Denki...

Denki had died before he had learnt the truth. Sero had wanted to tell him so badly, ever since their second year at UA, but now he never could. Tears rolled down his face as he thought back to every time he could have told him. Every chance he had over the years they had known each other.

If only be could have told Denki how he felt. How seeing Denki smiling made the darkness disappear. That Denki was the light at the end of the tunnel to him, the light he would never reach.

But now he was gone and all that remained was the darkness.

A shadow passed across the door and Sero looked up to see someone standing there, looking at him. Friend of foe, he didn't care, not anymore. He had nothing to live for anymore. Nothing else to achieve.

He just stared at the floor as he heard footsteps cross the room. Someone crouched down in front of him. He flinched as they placed their hand on his back.

"Sero?" Mina sounded worried. Sero just continued to cry. "What's wrong? What is it?"

Sero's head snapped up to look at her. "What is it? Denki's dead, that's what it is. He's home and he's never coming back. I'll never see him again and I'll never be able to tell him. I loved him, but I was too scared to say but now he's gone and I can't tell him. I'll never know if he felt the same. I'll never know..."

A memory ran through Sero's head.

Denki pay on his bed, his head dangling over the edge. "Truth of dare?" he asked sleepily. Sero looked up from his phone. They were the only two in the dorm room, Kirishima and Bakugou had left hours ago and it was getting close to midnight.

"Uh, truth." He responded. Denki gave a dissatisfied huff. Sero rolled his eyes at him. "Most of your dares are illegal." Denki crossed his arms defensively and stuck his tongue out. "Slapping Bakugou isn't."

"Yeah, but I don't have a deathwish." Sero answered. Denki laughed and nodded as best as he could while upside down. "Fine, dare, but nothing that'll get me imprisoned or killed."

"But that takes all the fun out of it!" Denki laughed again. Something about his laugh made Sero feel lighter, like a weight had been taken off his shoulders, like maybe life wasn't so bad. Sero grabbed his drink, trying to cover up his blushing face.

"Okay, so, I dare you to kiss me." Sero almost spat out his drink. "W-what?"  He turned to look at Denki who had rolled over into his front and was looking at Sero. Sero ducked away, trying to avoid the contact.

He shrugged. "It's not illegal and won't get you killed." Sero tried to find the right words but couldn't. Denki didn't actually like him did he? Then why would he...

"Are you chickening out?" Denki asked. "N-no." Sero replied defensively. He gathered as much courage as he could and crossed the room, kneeling down by his bed so his face was at the same height as the electric blonds.

He quickly pressed his lips to Denki's and pulled away. "Aw, come on! You can do better than that!" Denki laughed. Sero felt his face burn red and he stood up. "I, uh, should go to bed now." He left the room and ran back to his own dorm as thoughts swarmed his head.

He was shaken back to reality as Mina pulled him into a hug. She held him for a while then let go.

"We have a plan..."
