Awkward Barrier

AU: BamBam wants to talk to Yugyeom but he doesn't know Korean...

"Jackson? Don't you understand Korean??" BamBam said in English.

"Yeah? Sort of?"

"Can you talk to him then?" BamBam gasped. "Be my translator!"

"Umm... Ask Mark."

"Mark speaks Korean?"

"Yeah...!" Jackson nodded, grinning to himself.

BamBam nodded. "I'll ask him– Omg, he's right there!!"

The tall boy was walking towards the two, looking around his surroundings.

BamBam pulled Mark's arm. "Mark! Talk to that guy for me! Introduce me to him!"

Jackson looked at Mark, and the elder nodded.

Mark flinched. "U-um... Okay?" He said in English. "Yugyeom!"

The tall boy turned around.

"Come here!" Mark called out in Korean.

"Whoa, that's so cool." BamBam ahed.

Mark told him some things in Korean, and the tall boy was blushing.

Jackson was laughing.

"Can you understand them??" BamBam asked in English.

Jackson nodded and giggled. "That's a funny one, Mark."

"BamBam, try to talk to Yugyeom." Mark gestured to the tall boy, speaking a language BamBam can understand.

"U-uhm...." BamBam gulped.

Yugyeom looked and BamBam and smiled.

"Hi..."

"Helloo." Yugyeom grinned and waved.

"Do you understand English?"

Yugyeom didn't reply that fast. "I know little." He had an accent. "What is name?"

"O-oh. BamBam."

"BamBam?" Yugyeom tilted his head. His accent was super cute. 

BamBam nodded.

"Nice to meet you." Yugyeom smiled and slightly bowed. 

"Ummm, how do you say what's your name in Korean?"

"What is your name?" Jackson said.

"Not Chinese!" BamBam whacked Jackson. "Korean!!" 

"What is your name in Korean?" Jackson laughed and ran away from BamBam's hand.

"Fine! Fine! What is your name?" Jackson asked Yugyeom in Korean.

"I am Yugyeom." He replied in English. 

"Ask him some questions!" Jackson nudged the Thai. "You wanted to become friends with him, right?"

"Uhh– What is your favorite......" BamBam mumbled. "Where do you..... What is your... W-what is your..... WHAT IS YOUR PHONE NUMBER!?" BamBam blushed and face palmed.

".............................." Yugyeom blinked.

Mark chuckled. "Smoooth."

Yugyeom didn't understand what he said.

"Phone??" BamBam pointed to his phone. "Phone number??"

Yugyeom's eyes lit up. "I have phone!" He raised his phone. "Apple! You?"

"Nooo, your phone number."

Mark whispered to Yugyeom.

"Phone case??" Yugyeom started to take off his phone case. 

"MARK WHAT DID YOU TELL HIM??!" BamBam tried to stop Yugyeom but he was busy trying to take off his case, while Mark was crying with laughter on the floor.

"This is too much fun." Mark wiped his eyes.

"TELL HIM PROPERLY WHAT I WANT TO TELL HIM!!!!" 

"Yugyeom!" Jackson said lots of sentences out loud in Korean.

"Ohh!! Number?" Yugyeom said in English.

BamBam flushed. "Y-yes..."

"My number." Yugyeom showed his phone and showed Jackson's phone number.

"MARK! JACKSON! STOP IT!! I DON'T WANT YOUR PHONE NUMBER!!" 

Mark and Jackson were both laughing now.

The poor Maknae was confused. "Number??"

"I am offended! You don't want my number anymore?" Jackson laughed at BamBam.

Mark finally told Yugyeom to give BamBam his number, and BamBam added it to his contacts.

"Finally!" BamBam put his phone away.

"Do you want go out together?" Yugyeom asked.

"Sure– Wait, what?!" BamBam yelled in shock.

Mark and Jackson were giggling at each other.

"You got what you wanted~!" Jackson cooed.

"T-that's not what I meant–!" BamBam covered his face to muffle his screams. 

"Is it yes?" Yugyeom tilted his head to the side.

"If we go somewhere, I need a translator. IT WILL BE SO AWKWARD!!!"

Jackson chuckled. "Why don't you learn Korean? I learned Korean from dating." 

"Then you can teach him English! Problem solved! You two have fun!" Mark walked away with Jackson.

BamBam sighed and looked at the taller boy. "So, do you like Starbucks?"

Yugyeom smiled and nodded eagerly.
