I Came Back For You

Chapter Fourteen

A week later
" It was on Saturday evening and I was at Eva's. We were watching Toy story, she loved the cartoon so much and she always made me watch it with her every time we hang out at hers.

I was laying on the couch and Eva was laying beside me with her head on my chest. I was playing with her hair, something I loved doing whenever I had a chance.

"Eva, there is something I need to tell you" I started as I tried to adjust myself so that I could look at her face. She sat upright and gave me a worried look and I couldn't help but feel broke inside.

"I am going to relocate to Bartio in 2 months time. I need to look after the business that's why I have to stay there" she sat there watching me before she spoke

"Well, that is.. shocking news. Am sure am going to miss you so much but I understand that you have to go"

"That's the problem" I said sounding so unsure.

"What do you mean?" She was confused this time.

"I was thinking that.. maybe you might.. please, it's just a suggestion. Would you like to go and leave with me there?"

"What? Are you crazy, Jeff? No way, my life is here. I just can't wake up and leave everything behind. I can't go with you. Am sorry but that's just.. that's crazy"

"It's not crazy Eva. I don't want to leave you on your own. I won't be okay when am three hundred kilometers away from you. Please just say yes."

"Jeff, that is impossible. You're not leaving me alone. I have Mark who is my friend too, besides, you'll be dropping to say hello, right? Am really going to be okay"

"You really don't understand, I.."

"I do understand everything. You need to go and start another life Jeff. We'll always see each other when you come"

"I hate to do it this way but you leave me with no choice"

"What are you talking about?"

I pulled her close to me and I held her face in my hands. I didn't understand where all the courage came from. She was shocked by my action and she tried to pull away but I held her tighter.

"Jeff, you're scaring.."

"No need to be scared. I love you Eva, I have been in love with you all this time and I just didn't know how to say it to you. Right from the first day we met, I fell for you and I have always been scared of letting you know how I feel. I don't want to go and leave you behind Eva. I want you to be with me wherever I go. I can't be away from you. I know you love me too because I can feel it. Please tell me that you will go with me." There goes everything. I couldn't believe I did it. I hadn't planned for it to be like that but I couldn't think of anything else better.

Her eyes became teary and I got scared that maybe she was going to turn me down. "Jeff, I love you too. More than you'll ever know, but what you're asking of me is something I can't do. I have lived here all my life and it's hard to leave everything with just a snap of the finger. I really do love you but I can't go with you."

I really couldn't believe what she had just said. Instead of feeling bad that she wasn't going with me,a sudden feeling of happiness washed over me and I got on feet lifting Eva up and hugging her like my whole life depended on it.

"I never thought you loved me too Eva. I know I said I felt it but honestly, I always doubted it. Thank you for making me the happiest man alive today. Don't worry about going with me to Bartio, we'll figure out something but for now just tell me this.."

I dug into my pocket and held a bracelet. I had bought it the last time i went to Bartio but I forgot to give it to her until today I remembered to carry it.

"Will you be my girlfriend Eva?"
I held out the bracelet for her to see
She nodded her head yes
"Yes Jeff, I will be your girlfriend" and just like that, tears ran down her cheeks.
I wiped them away with my hands and handed her the bracelet.

"I love you so much Eva and am happy that you are my girlfriend now. I promise to always make you happy. I love you baby"
I pulled her to me and hugged her tightly as I kissed her cheeks.

"I love you too" she whispered to me softly.
I couldn't believe she was mine

I pulled away a little bit and leaned forward to kiss her.
I could tell she didn't see that coming and I decided not to do it but she suprised me when she pulled me to her and locked our lips together.
Her lips were so soft and sleek.
I went ahead tried to get access to her mouth with my tongue and she opens it.
She really tasted like heaven and I loved every bit of her.
I pulled her more closer and my hand went to her waist as the other held her cheek.She brought hers to my neck and I could tell she was enjoying our first kiss. She then moved here right hand across my chest and then she pulled away.

She smiled and looked on the floor. I didn't fail to notice how adorable she looked when she blushed.

"Don't be shy baby, we'll be doing this many times and you'll get used to it." I smiled back at her and kissed her forehead.

She was all I ever needed.
