Three weeks later ( Friday)
Sam POV
I woke up pretty early today.
I head to the bathroom and take a shower then afterwards l put on my black jeans,a white shirt and my black vans. I feel cute already (wink).
I loved Fridays,always remind me the weekend is about to start. I walked past Ally's room and peeped but she was still asleep.
My sister was a heavy sleeper and therefore I was sure if I didn't wake her up then she'd end up getting us late for school.
"Alice Winston wake up the world is on fire" I shout to her ear and before I know am landing on the floor with my butt while left my hand is holding my eye. My bad
"Fire fire everyone fire lets..." Alice was shouts and screams out loud before she even understands what is happening.
Even with the pain in my eye, I can't help but laugh at her stupidity. I always do that to her while she's sleeping especially on weekends because I always wake up before her.
"Sam are you crazy? I thought that there was fire l" she gives me an evil look while I keep laughing at her "you're so stupid you know"
"No sister, it's the other way round. You're the one who's crazy and stupid. How can the whole world be on fire"
"Maybe you should tell me coz I don't know how in the world you came up with such a stupid thing" she picks her pillow and hits me with it several times and I to stop her but due to my laughter,am helpless.
"Okay okay..am sorry Ally. Get ready now we're going to be late for school."
"Whatever dummy"
I walk to the door and then stop and look back at her. She's seated at the edge of her bed and she kinda looks off.
"Alice, get ready now or we're going to be late for school"
"Sam, what day is it today"
"It's Friday. Meaning the weekend starts today at 3pm baby sister. Now go and get ready while I make us some breakfast" I leave her room and head to the kitchen where I find mum making some pancakes for breakfast.
Alice Pov
I have never felt so lonely like I feel today. It's my birthday and am not even having a birthday party. What hurts the most is that my brother - who's always treated me on my birthdays - doesn't even remember what day today is.
I asked him what day it is hoping that he'd remember and suprise me with a birthday gift but to my surprise he was only happy that it's a weekend.
I walk my lonely self to the bathroom and take a shower and then I head back to my room.
I put on a pink tank top paring it with black ripped jeans and a pair of black converse.
I put my hair on a loose bun and then I take my bag and head out to the kitchen.
I already feel like crap, today is going to be a long day.
"What took you so long Ally? We only have five minutes before we leave so you should hurry"
I roll my eyes at Sam and take a seat next to him.
"Where is mum?"
"She's with Kei in her room"
"Has dad left?"
"Yeah, now shut your mouth and eat"
"That doesn't even make sense. How am I supposed to eat while my mouth is shut" I just feel like annoying him and everyone around me - you know the kind of feeling you get when you want somebody to notice something but they don't and that makes you sick? Yeah, that's exactly how I feel and maybe much worse.
"Alice Winston" There, I know I pressed the wrong button - the right one for me though.
"Okay am sorry" I say as I finish my last bite of my pancake and take a big sip of my tea and I stand taking the cup to the sink.
" Look who's making the other late now." I shout to Sam who is busy on his phone as I walk out of the kitchen heading to the front door.
"Whatever drama queen" I hear him yell as walk out of the house leaving the door open for him.
Our ride to school is just as normal as ever. Sam keeps talking about some girl - Betty - how they're going out tonight and so I should get a ride back home from Vee.
"What? You're want me to borrow a ride just so you can take some girl out?" I just couldn't believe this
"Stop being dramatic Ally, it's not like I'm asking you to ride with Elam" I hated this idiot right now.
"You know what! It's okay I'll ride with Vee. Go and have fun with your girlfriend." I open the passenger's door and leave him talking not getting exactly what he is saying.
I felt my eyes wet with tears. This day couldn't get any worse.
"Happy birthday Ally" I stand in my tracks as I hear a voice behind me. This must be a dream and I need to wake up. I slap myself a little on the face just to confirm if this is real.
"Here. I got you something"
I turn around to see my best friend Elam smiling sweetly at me, note the sarcasm.
"Look Elam, am not in the mood for your craziness"
I gave him a hard glare but it didn't seem to have any effect on him.
"I was just wishing you a happy birthday. Am sorry if I offended you" he tries to act innocent but that doesn't suit him for one bit.
"Can you please leave me alone" I choked as tears started to well up in my eyes.
" Seriously am sorry but you know what, it's not cool to cry on your birthday. You should be having fun"
"I wish I could" I said not even realising that I was loud enough for him to hear.
"Whatever it is, don't let it ruin your day. Anyway, here's my little gift for your birthday" he said and for once I could tell he was honest.
"Thanks but don't even think we're going to be friends"
"I don't like you as my friend either. I'm fine having you as my "bestie" " he winked then he walked away.
I couldn't help but smile a little. Who would have thought Elam would remember my birthday leave alone give me a birthday gift.
I put the small box in my bag and left.
