Alice Pov
I'm in my last class and the day will be over. Thanks God tommorow is on Saturday. With how bad my day started, I got no hope that it will get any better. Am probably going to sleep immediately I get home and then I'll wake up tommorow in the afternoon. That's how I love dealing with my problems. Sleeping all my troubles away.
The bell rings and our English teacher dismisses the class. I put my books in my backpack and head to my locker where I find Vee waiting for me.
"Hey Ally. Let's hurry up mum is waiting for us at the gate"
"Okay. You're coming for a sleepover right?"
"Yeahp. But I'll pick up something at mine then we'll go to yours."
"Alright then. Am done, let's go" we walk out of the school building and spot Vee's mum waving at us.
"Hey girls. How was your day."
She hugs us and leads us to the car.
"It was fine mum" Vee talks as we enter the car.
"Ally, happy birthday dear"
"Thank you aunty" I smiled to myself. At least three people remembered. Vee, her mum and..well..Elam.
Vee's family and mine have been close since we were young. She calls my mum aunty and I call her's aunty. Her mum is like a second mother to me and I love her like I love my mums.
"We're here girls. I'll leave you since I have to rush somewhere. You can take a cab to Ally's home."
"Okay mum, see you tomorrow"
"Bye honey"
"Byeee"
We walk to Vee's house and I head to the kitchen. I was hungry so I went to raid their kitchen. I take a carton of mango juice and some queen cakes and seat on the counter as I eat
"Let's go now" Vee calls from the living room
"Am not done eating"
"You can't be serious. Bring the food with you." She says as she appears in the kitchen.
"Am almost done Vee. Just give me three minutes"
"We should be going now Ally" she stamps her feet and goes to pick the juice but it falls and spills on my clothes and then wm all wet.
"Veeeeee. What have you done now."
"Am sorry" her phone rings and she looks at it. She picks up the phone and walks out of the house and I take the remaining juice and my cakes and follow her out where we find a cab waiting for us.
Within 15 minutes we reach home and Vee hands the driver his money.
We enter the house and it's all dark. I guess the lights have gone off but luckily it's not so dark.
"Lemme go to my room and change then I'll meet you in the living room. Choose a movie that we're going to watch"
"Okay, be first" Vee says as she takes a seat in the living room and I head to my room but not before knocking on my mum's room but surprisingly she's not in her room. Maybe she's in the kitchen.
I enter my room and I find a blue flayer dress on my bed. It looks so beautiful. There's a note beside the dress that reads
"Wear the dress and those shoes that are on your table. Come down stairs" I smile to myself.
And here I thought my birthday was the worst day of my life. I quickly take a shower and put on my dress and shoes. I hold my hair on a tight bun and a smile at the mirror. I look good.
I head to the living room to see what the next thing will be. Maybe my brother will be taking me out like he did last year. He took me to a very classic hotel then we went to skate at a nearby skate pack and later we had a hearty meal prepared by my parents. He had also got me a silver photo frame that I had inserted our picture from when we were kids. He was holding my hand while the other was pointing the camera man and I was looking at the camera man. We were both smiling.
I'm cut off from my thoughts when I hear a big and loud "Suprise" from everyone in the living room. Wait, all my classmates are here? Even Elam?
God, I can't believe all this.
"Happy birthday to you Ally" Sam comes to me and hugs me. I feel hot tears flowing down my cheeks. My mum comes next and hugs me tightly and whispers a happy birthday in my ears and she kisses my cheek.
"Happy birthday princess" my dad hugs me too and he doesn't seem to want to let me go. He holds me in his arms for almost a minute and I can't help the tears from coming out. It seems like that's what I've been doing since morning.
We all walk out to the garden where everything the small event will be taking place. I find uncle Brian fixing the snake lights. It seems like this is going to be a long and awesome night.
"Hey uncle"I run to him and throw myself into his arms. He's my only uncle since my dad is the only son of his parents therefore he has no brother or sister.
Uncle Brian is the most sweetest guy I know. He's funny and he always brings us gifts whenever he visits.
I always get the best because according to him, am the only princess in the house. mmmh
"Happy birthday baby girl." He hugs me and then he gives me a big a bracelet that has my name on it."That's your gift from me" he smiles then let's me go.
"Thank you uncle. It's so beautiful. I like it"
"You're welcome princess. Now go and have fun with your friends. Am almost done here."
"Okay then, see you later"
"No problem"
My friends shower me with alot of gifts. I really should thank whoever planned this whole thing.
The party starts and everyone is having fun. It can't get any better than this I swear.
