"Speak."
Bai Yutong said dryly. His voice was authoritive and cold - not leaving any room for discussion.
The mood in the room was frosty and the air icy. For a moment there, the suspect imagined small ice flowers blooming across the mirror. Starting at the rims, the small crystals spread over the entire glass. He shivered as a severe chill rocked through his entire body. His gaze fell on Bai Yutong again. No wonder he felt so cold as the man's gaze would even freeze hell's wildest flames. He flinched at Bai Yutong's icy glare and averted his eyes as if to avoid freezing into a human popsicle by staring into his eyes longer than necessary.
In a matter of less than a second, Bai Yutong's gaze changed. From icy to searing hot - burning with raging flames of anger.
"I said talk, goddamnit! Do you need a special invitation?!"
Bai Yutong screamed and his loud roar echoed in the small room like thunder.
The already intimidated man jumped in surprise and instinctively slumped down in his seat further - making himself as small as possible.
"I-I dont know what you want me to tell you."
He finally replied quietly, earning an unbelieving scoff from Bai Yutong who was slowly but surely losing not only his patience but his mind as well. If he didn't make sure of Zhan Yao's safety any time soon he was sure to lose his mind.
"How about you start with Zhan Ya- Professor Zhan's whereabouts, the rest will follow naturally. So. Where is he?"
Bai Yutong tiredly pinched the bridge of his nose and then went over to rub his temples. He was starting to grow a headache and the seemingly underdeveloped brain of the suspect as well as the slow progression of the case didn't help with his situation at all.
The suspect's head flipped in Bai Yutong's direction who had started to pace back and forth in the room like a restless tiger in his cage - only that there was no cage seperating the man from the lethal animal.
"I-I don't know. I swear! He just disappeared! Boss was going to take him to our other hideout but before we reached him and Troy he was already gone and Troy was unconscious. I told him it was a bad idea to take him with us. That guy is a monster - no - a devil!"
Fear does make people talk. As soon as Xiao Yun opened his mouth he didn't seem to be able to shut it close again - which would have been more wise in his situation. Trapped in the fear caused by the memories of his encounter with Professor Zhan, he didn't notice the dangerous change in the beast's demeanor. He just rambled on in frantic fear.
Until he was interrupted by a low growl.
"'A monster - no - a devil'?!"
Bai Yutong repeated Xiao Yun's words unbelievingly. Unfortunately, Xiao Yun - blinded by his fear - didn't notice the warning signs, didn't notice Bai Yutong's furious tone and how his gaze turned murderous.
"Th-That person is a demon! I swear! He wanted to kill me, that psychopathi-"
His sentence was cut by Bai Yutong's angry outburst.
He had already crossed the room and had his hands on the man's collar when the door flung open and in came a pale Zhao Fu alongside with a panicked Wang Shao. It took both, them and Bai Jintang who had hurried in as soon as he heard the commotion, to pull the white mouse away from the thoroughly terrified Xiao Yun. Luckily, Zhao Fu and Wang Shao were watching from the other side of the mirrorglass and stepped in before the situation could escalate any more than this. Bai Jintang also rushed in as soon as he noticed what was happening.
"Xiao Tong! Calm down already! Right now, shouldn't you be concentrating on finding Xiao Zhan first?!"
Bai Jintang tried to reason with his younger brother as he struggled to keep him from jumping at the suspect again. The mention of Zhan Yao must have struck a nerve in Bai Yutong as he went still for a second before he ripped his arms away which were desperately held on by the three men surrounding him.
Without a word, he left the interrogation room, snatched his jacket from the chair as he walked past and entered the elevator. The three dumbfounded men watched him in mute confusion and only caught a last short glimpse of the captain's expressionless face before the doors of the elevator shut close.

Shortly after Bai Yutong entered his car he felt his phone buzz in his pocket and the normally cheery ringtone annoyed him for once.
"What?!"
He answered aggressively without looking at the callers ID and started the engine.
"Xiao Tong! Where are you?"
Sounded the angry voice of Bai Jintang in his ear.
"Going to get the cat."
He answered simply as he put his seat-belt on.
"What? You found out where he is? Where?! Bai Yutong, you can't just go there alone. You-"
Bai Yutong rolled his eyes and cut him off mid-sentence.
"I can't phone while driving. Bye."
With that, he just ended the call despite the protests of his brother, threw his phone on the passenger's seat and pulled out of the parking lot.
Of course Bai Jintang wouldn't be Bai Jintang if he just left it at that and pestered him by calling him nonstop - until Bai Yutong finally had enough and turned of the annoying device before he could destroy yet another one in less than one day.
He would probably get a good earful from his brother about his behaviour later on, but right now he didn't care.
There was only one thought repeating itself in his mind over and over again.
To get to Zhan Yao as soon as possible. And to give a certain someone hell.
Maybe it were two thoughts after all.
