Extra Chapter 1

Ultimately, even the last article found its way into the decent-sized suitcase. But Zhan Yao was still not satisfied. He shuold double-check at least once just to be safe. Zhan Yao was a lot slower than the over-excited Bai Yutong who had already finished packing and was now impatiently sitting on the bed in their apartment, fidgeting around and staring at the idle cat. 

Finally, he could not bear it anymore. Not wanting to wait any longer, he stood up and rushed to grab on to the suitcase Zhan Yao wanted to go through one last time and closed it impatiently, almost ripping off the zipper.

"No need to double-check, cat! Let's go already!"

"Says the guy who actually not double- but quadruple-checked?", Zhan Yao huffs - baffled.

"That's that and this is this. Let's go", Bai Yutog says dismissively and grabs onto Zhan Yao with his free hand to drag him out of their bedroom.

"What kind of nonsense-logic is that?", Zhan Yao scoffs but lets himself get dragged along anyway. Bai Yutong just rolled his eyes at him.

He dragged Zhan Yao in the living room where his own luggage was already neatly piled and flung the surely heavy bag over his shoulder like it weighed nothing, grabbed hold of his suitcase and dragged the whole baggage - including Zhan Yao - ouside the apartment.

Zhan Yao just smiled secretly at Bai Yutong's child-like excitement. Normally he would have probably nagged at Yutong for dragging him around like this but with the other's current mood he just could not bring himself to do it. Admittedly, he himself was also in a way too good mood and did not feel the need to start one of their usual quarrels (which both of them secretly enjoy, though). 

But Bai Yutong's excitement - though it was cute - was also dangerous in more than one ways. One of them being almost falling down the stairs.

That would be the last thing either of them wanted or needed right now when they finally, finally got their more than well-deserved vacation. They even had coaxed Bai Sir into giving the whole team a vacation as well, though it was not as long as their own. But in Bao Sir's defence, it was more difficult to negotiate with an overworked and frustrated cat-mouse-duo than any criminal. The two of them had not left any room for discussion and only accepted the vacation on their terms.

When Bao Sir dared to make the meek attempt to change anything, Bai Yutong had actually snapped at him for the very first time and even raised his voice, then followed with whining and moping around, going as far as to say he would just resign if they did not allow his vacation. Blame the stress, a sleepless night and combine everything with the over-consumation of too much coffein and accumulated frustration.

In response, Zhan Yao had promptly slapped him on the back of his head for his disrespectful behaviour and made him apologize. Misleaded by Zhan Yao's behaviour, Bao Sir tried once more to reduce their vacation to two weeks. But when faced with Zhan Yao's icy expression and cold tone 'Four weeks. I think we are worth that much, are we not?', Bao Sir gave up and granted their vacation with a sigh.

Zhan Yao was right after all, they did deserve at least that little bit of vacation after everything they went through. And it is not like they are the only man-power they have. Though they are the best in their police station, they also had a lot of other capable detectives and officers. The Hongkong Police Departmant would just have to survive without them for a bit.

Bai Yutong closed the trunk of his sportscar and hummed cheerfully. He walked around the car and Zhan Yao raised a questioning brow at him since he walked towards him on the passenger side instead towards the driver seat. Yutong swiflty grabbed him by the hips and crashed their lips together. In broad daylight! On the street! Zhan Yao flushed red and was about to yell at him but stopped at the rare content expression on Bai Yutong's face.
