"So you're Grayson? I was actually picturing someone worse"

Carter had just introduced the two men that she hoped to get along.
They had a strong long handshake. Dad obviously trying to intimidate Grayson.

"Thank you, Mr Johnson"

Carter's mom came insight and stood next to her husband. She knew dad well and he will always want the best for Carter.

"Richard you better be playing nice to Grayson. What a handsome lad he is"

Carter laughed, knowing how much she liked Grayson was such a relief to Carter. Dad dismissed himself to the BBQ. With mom following behind him.

"My mom definitely likes the look of you"

Grayson laughed looking down to Carter. His nervousness finally vanished when his eyes met his. She smiled looking at him.
So happy that she finally met his parents.

"Come on im hungry i saw some Mango my mom put out wanna have some with me?"

Grayson shook his head laughing at her. All-day, every day Carters go-to snack is fruit. What does she have for breakfast? Fruit with yoghurt. What does she have for lunch? Fruit with a granola bar. What does she have for dinner? Obviously not fruit she actually has a meal but she does have fruit salad for dessert. Grayson always wonders why she was obsessed with it.

"I swear you are a fruit addict"

"Yh she's always been like that our little CJ"

Carter turns around at the sudden voice she hasn't heard for ages. Her heart skipped at the woman in front of her.

"Thea?!"

The woman's smile grew as Carter said her name. So happy that she could finally see her.

"CJ"

"TJ"

They both squeal hugging each other. Not seeing each other in months is heartbreaking for them both. They have a bond that nobody could break.

Grayson obviously confused at this situation awkwardly walks away to not bother the sister bonding time, and gradually finds himself in a battle with Bella, Ethan and the kids play fighting with water guns. 

Carter's cheeks were so aching from how much she had been smiling. She missed her big sister. Even though they used to fight they still loved each other! That's what kids would do.

"So moms told me about your boyfriend he is hot!"

"Yh listen to your statement you just said 'your boyfriend' so hands off"

"Okay smartie pants, he is though'

"He is also taken"

They both laugh at the little argument they were having walking to the table where the food was.

"You know, i never thought you would get a boyfriend."

"Thanks, TJ"

"No im not saying it in a bad way. Like yeah if you really wanted a boyfriend you could easily get one because you are stunning, but you never seemed fussed by any of the relationships. Even when we watch romance films when you were little, you hated it and always laughed if they broke up. So we as a family thought you would never get a boyfriend."

"Can we not talk about this?"

Thea picked up a plate adding food onto it like sausage rolls and pizza. Whilst Carter simply picked up the pot of mango. Thea just laughed at Carter for being a weirdo.

"I'm going say hi to baby bump and I'll come back over to you"

Carter nods as she sees her sister walk away. Carter looked at the scenery of two families mixed. Lisa was talking to Lynette (Carter's mom if you didn't know). Sean and Richard were by the BBQ. Carter's older siblings were among each other with another young adult girl. The younger ones messing around with her boyfriend, his twin and her 'sister'.

She loved seeing everyone getting along, but in other words and thoughts, this gradually made Carter upset that she's lying to all these amazing people among her to just make one person jealous. She felt guilty. Lying. To her OWN family. She never wanted this to happen. She didn't think it would last 2 months. In all honesty, she didn't even want it to be over. She has met a Grayson she never knew existed. A Grayson that makes her laugh uncontrollably. The fun times she's had with him. When they joke about, but in reality its all built up with a bunch of lies.
His smile was perfect, the more she looked at him the more she thought it was real. The more she wanted it to be real, but at the end of the day, his heart will always belong to Sidney. This is where she will always be second best.
