Chapter 19:

Luke was once again talking to me about changing him. As you can tell it isn't going well for either of us.

"They'd die you know" I whisper.

"They?" Hs raises his eyebrow.

"Michael. Ashton. Calum. They wouldn't change with you"

"If I changed them they would" he said.

"Do you really want to do that?"

"Not really but if they wanted to and I needed them there I would!" he rose his voice. "don't you need me?" he asked softer.

"Luke" I sighed pulling him down to the couch with me. "I haven't made any final decisions"

"Thank you"

"But I want you to know it's not that I don't want you to be with me forever because trust me I do. It's just what's best for you Luke."

"You're wrong" he shook his head.

"I'm not. I know what it's like to have everything change or taken away while you stay the same right where you are. People die. You live. They get to experience growing up. You don't. It isn't fun"

"I know it isn't but none of that matters. You want to know why?"

"Why?"

"Because I have you"

"Luke" I start.

"You don't get it. If I lived forever I wouldn't worry about everyone dying. The only thing that captured my attention would be you. I could forget about everything if I had you"

"You are so sweet" I cuddle into him.

"I love you" he kisses my forehead.

"I love you"

"Do you know if-"

"I'm still thinking. I just need time"

"3 weeks" he says quietly but I hear.

"I'll have decided by then I promise"

"Ok baby"

"You're tired" I rub circles on the palm of his hand.

"I'll stay up with you"

"Go to bed babe. We can do something tomorrow"

"Ok" he yawns. "just for a few hours ok?"

"Ok. Goodnight Luke"

"Goodnight Selena"

"I love you Luke"

"I love you Selena"

He drifts off to peaceful sleep as I watch his features relax.

"I need to decide" I shake my head.

But it's not that simple.
