The Dead Flower

Chapter Seven

As I settle in the library corner, I decide to go online to see what's new and the latest headless. A notification pops up which makes me want to throw up:
    "Ans$sern billionaires have been spotted in New York with one of their youngest daughter ,what brings them here.... "

I sneer as I continue reading more on the post. It's funny on how your family is online and yet no one knows. I thank God I am not mentioned anywhere in the post. The bell saves me from reading further.

I thank God I happen to have literature as my first lesson which is among my best subjects. As I walk in the hallways I receive extra stares today. I just happen to not give a fuck.

"Carrie Amanda Andersen you are required in the principals office right now. " the stupid voice of the school speakers roar in the hallways. I try not to think of what my mother wants cause I know she is in the office.

"Welcome Carrie, your mother here tells me that today you have an important function you are required to attend and she came  to ask for permission. Yes you are free to go. Make sure you are back on Monday"At our principals statement I don't know what to say anymore.

"I don't know of any function I have to attend.. "

"Ooh my bad I forgot to tell you yesterday but thank you Mr.Daniels for allowing me to go with her. "
Fuck her to pretend and make it believable.

As we get out of the office, I get impatient and snap

"Why did you do that. I thought you made it clear that I was not to attend this stupid family functions. And I think there is none. "

"Amanda come on we have an event and all your siblings are gonna be there. Please just come it's important. "

Mum using please makes me accept the offer cause she uses it rarely. I thank God the hallways are deserted as we make our way towards the exit.

I am forced to put on a dress. We are going to Chicago where my parents have an event with one of their numerous associates. I put on a purple dress that it's knee length and let my hair down.

I assume everyone as we  head to the venue. I am not speaking to anyone at the moment. I've not talked to Reid since yesterday night. Karina's greetings are the once I only replied to since she's my twin. We arrived at the event as it started.

"Karina you look beautiful. "Kate says hugging her. That's when my favorite person came by me.

"Carrie you look adorable in that dress Ooh my. "Kim said making me smile as he hugs me .My other siblings acknowledged me like some distant cousins which I cared less. Everyone was here apart from Koll.

"See who we have here if not my favorite twin. "I turn around to find a happy Koll as he hugs Karina. I just glance back knowing he's gonna behave like the rest. I excuse myself as I head to the washroom. Knowing no one has served my absence I stay in the washrooms for about twenty minutes. I know I am not perfect but my family makes it so obvious but I don't dare cry. I make my way to where they were only to find an empty table. Just great.

"....and this here is my son Kim Andersen he is nineteen years..." I don't care to listen as the introduction go on as I see all my family members at the front not forgetting Nathan and Reid. I was always left out during such functions after the argument we had with my dad four years ago. It went on for almost a year until Kim asked mom if I could move out.

I ran out of the mansion where the event was. I walked and walked until I was tired. As I walk I try to think of why my mum asked me to come to such an event only to humiliate me again. I thank God that I had carried money around. I searched for a motel where I had to spend the night.
