*Robin Douglas's POV:
"Is that a plane?" Katie asked, placing her hand on her forehead to block out the rays of the sun.
"Hey! Hey! Hey! Over here!" Danny shouted as he waved his arms, trying to get the Pilot's attention. Everyone else, except me, did the same.
Most of the trees were torn from their roots and were laid flat on the ground thanks to Beval's wind, so the Pilot should've had no problem seeing us, especially with how low the jet was flying. The jet's direction was clear enough to know that it was going to land on a flat, dirt field nearby, to the east of us. I was guessing that the pilot had spotted us, or maybe their intention was to come here.
While Gaia, Beval and the others cheered as the jet lowered towards the ground, I walked away from the scene, over to what's left of the entrance. I didn't care that we were getting help. I didn't care that we were finally going home. With Shimizu gone, I didn't want to do anything but cry. My eyes were still watery and pink. My face was bloodshot red from all the screaming and wailing I've done.
Whimpering, sniffling, I placed my hand on one of the rocks that was blocking the entrance.
"Goodbye Shimizu, thank you for everything" I whimpered as I started crying again, lowering my head. I could barely hear myself as the jet landed, overbearing most of the sound. I felt a warm pair of hands wrap around me from behind.
"Robin, we have to go. We have a ride back home now. They're here for us. We can go back to our families" Gaia said to me in a sweet manner, guiding me away from the cave and what's left of it.
Part of me didn't want to leave, but I knew I had to. I could not stay on this island a second longer. I didn't have to worry about killing-machines because I knew that once Shimizu destroyed the headquarters, all killing-machines all over the world were permanently shut down. Most importantly, I didn't have to worry about W.E.A anymore. It was over. No more experimenting. Thinking about it was such a relief.
I kept glancing back, hoping for any sign that he made it out alive. Hoping for a voice, hoping for a scream. Nothing.
Together, we walked towards the jet, I grabbed on to Gaia's hand as she grabbed on to Beval's. As we were approaching the dirt field, the plane door opened, unleashing a flight of stairs. Running down those stairs and towards us was Thomas and Isabella.
"Isabella?!" Beval said in shock. A smile grew on his face as he began sprinting towards his older sister, shouting her name in extreme happiness. "Isabella!"
"Thomas!" Gaia shouted, running to her brother. Thomas's arms grew wide before he and Gaia embraced with a tight hug.
"I never thought I'd see you again!" Beval cried as he hugged his big sister.
"It's okay, it's okay. I am here now" She replied, crying with him. I went over and hugged both Thomas and Isabella, crying as I did so. Even if I was turning fifteen in a little over a week I still wanted someone to cuddle me as if I was a baby.
"Thank you for coming for us, thank you" I cried. All five of us huddled into a group hug, along with Danny, Kimberly and Katie joining.
"Where is Shimizu?" Isabella asked. Each one of my friend's faces went from relief and joy, to grief and pain. I was the only one to build up enough courage to tell her.
"Isabella, Shimizu is dead. He sacrificed his life to protect me and my friends and-" I broke down in the middle of my sentence, collapsing on to the ground with Isabella catching me. "He destroyed W.E.A headquarters."
Isabella covered her mouth with her hands in disbelief as I wailed. Her eyes watered.
"Oh god no! How will we explain this to Mr. Hada?" Thomas worried as he gripped his dreads, his eyes tearing up as well.
