"Once Upon A Time, a princess was wandering in the forest...", the brunette started, "The princess was very kind, and trusted very easily, which was a curse because others could take advantage of it, and some did, but that didn't stop her from being kind to everyone who crossed her path."
The kids looked at him, their eyes glittering from excitement.
He smiled and continued,"As she was walking through down the clear path, she heard a noise behind her and...."
He pauses and looks at the sun. "And what?!" Pepper said, curiosity covering her voice.
"Well I'm afraid that's gonna have to wait until tomorrow, I promised your parents, I'd have you guys home before dark, so we have to head out if we want to make it back in time." Tyler replied calmly.
"But I wanna know what she heard, can't they wait just a little bit longer?" Mia said sadly.
"I'm afraid not sweets. I haven't told your parents anything other than, I'll have you guys home before dark and I certainly do not want upset parents. And I'm sure you don't want them either, because that means no more stories." He said, sternly.
All the kids gasped and started to stand up and head down the ladder of the treehouse.
When they arrived back at the village, Tyler counted and made sure he didn't leave any kids behind. As soon as he was certain he had all the children, he let them go to their homes.
Sluggishly starting to walk to his home, he sighs in exhaustion. He loved telling the kids stories and playing with them in the treehouse, but with as many as there are, it takes a lot of energy out of him.
As he walks down the path, he takes a moment to look at his surroundings. He notices the bright purple butterflies, and the fireflies are very sparse, because the sun was still setting. As a fairy, you can just fly home, but Tyler enjoys the walks. He likes looking around at the pretty flowers, and see all the animals walk around. Some say he's funny for doing that, but others admire the way he adores nature.
Stepping in the doorframe, he sees his mother putting out the plates for dinner.
"Hey ma." Tyler says, sending her a tired smile.
"How'd the kids like the cookies?" she says, returning the smile with the same tired look.
"Oh, they loved them. You should've seen their faces when they ate them. They were so excited." he replied, grinning
"Thats nice. Call your siblings, and get your dad, dinner is ready." Kelly said
"Got it."
Tyler ran upstairs to his siblings rooms.
He knocked on Jay's first, just because he would actually listen.
Jay opened the door and smiled,
"Tyty!" Jay exclaimed, reaching up for a hug from his big brother.
"Jay, I missed you so much!" He said squeezing Jay in his hug.
Jay giggled,"That's silly. You were only gone for a few hours."
"I know, don't tell Maddie or Zach this, but your my favorite sibling, and that's why I missed you." he said quietly but his finger to his lips.
Jay whispers back,"I won't."
"Okay good, dinners ready, so go on now, shoo." He says, grinning.
Jay giggles all the way down the stairs.
"MADDIE! ZACH! THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE!" Tyler exclaimed
They quickly scurried out at the same time, worry covering their faces. But the worry turns into anger, when they see their big brother standing there smiling at them.
"What to you want?" Maddie said distastefully
"Mom wanted me to tell you guys dinner is ready." He said, smile never leaving his face.
"Well you could have just told us?" Zach said in a bratty tone.
"Come on, dinner is ready." He ignored Zach's comment
Time Skip to after dinner
After dinner, Tyler was so tired. All he wanted was sleep.
But Jay wouldn't go to bed. He shared his room with Jay while the other two get bedrooms to themselves, sometimes it wasn't so bad, other times,Tyler just wished he could've been the only child.
And this was one of those times. Don't get him wrong, he loved Jay, but when someone is tired, they want sleep, not a back talking 6 year old.
"Jay please, it's bedtime, go to sleep." He said whining
"But I'm not tired." He said cheerfully.
"I am, so go to bed." Tyler said sleepily
"Sing." Jay demands
"What?" Tyler questions
"Sing to me." Jay repeats
"Will you go to sleep?" He says
"Yeah, bu' only if sing you to to me." Jay says sheepishly
"Okay, okay. What song?" Tyler asks
"You know the one." Jay answers, closing his eyes.
Tyler sighs and starts,
"Oh, Ms Believer,
My pretty sleeper,
Your twisted mind,
Is like snow on the road,
Your shaking shoulders,
Prove that it's colder,
Inside your head,
Than the winter of dead,
I will tell you,
I love you,
But the muffs on your ears,
Will cater your fears,
My nose and feet are running,
As we start,
To travel through snow,
Together we go."After finishing the song, he goes and gets ready for bed.
He takes his usual late night shower, brushes his teeth, and hair.
He climbs in the bed, failing to notice his senses were picking something up.
He also failed to notice the howling outside, just a few miles away, faint, but noticeable, if you were paying attention, that is.
