Jenna, Darling

Oh, here we go. Tyler thought.

"Welcome into our home. My husband is in the 2nd wing, so he will be joining us later. Jenna is upstairs finishing up, so how about we wait in the great hall. After Jenna joins us, we will head to the dining room to discuss matters." The queen said, she wasn't really suggesting anything, she was commanding them. And Tyler could already tell he didn't like these people. Especially people that tell him what to do.

"So just sit here and wait." She said,

Tyler didn't pay attention to the adults talking. He just observed his surroundings and took everything in. He didn't even notice Jenna walking down the stairs, which may have made her upset, because when Tyler finally looked at her, she had a scowl on her face. Yeah, there's no way Tyler would marry her. Don't get him wrong, she was pretty. And that seems like the problem. She knew she was pretty. She had blonde hair, neatly pulled up. Beautiful sky blue eyes, nothing like Tyler had ever seen before. She was wearing a light yellow gown, that seemed less poofy than her mother's dress. But nothing could compare to Josh's bright purple hair, that always seemed to look perfect. And his glistening golden brown eyes, anyone could get lost in. And anything he wore matched his personality perfectly. His build was perfect. His lips. Everything about him was perfect. Jenna just wasn't Josh. So he just wouldn't marry her.

"Oh, Jenna, darling. I'm glad you could make it." Her mother said through her smiley grin.

"I wouldn't miss it, mother." She smiled back.

"How about you two go and get to know each other, hm?" Jenna's mom suggested.

"Okay. Let's go." She grabbed his hand and Tyler cringed. He doesn't like when people touch him. Only people he trusts. He just met this girl, and he didn't like her. So he'd rather not touch her, if it could be avoided. And he could avoid this, so he spoke up,

"Hey, um. Could you let my hand go? I don't like when people touch me." He said quietly.

She looked at him like he just grew 2 heads and aggressively let his hand go.

"Yeah, sure." She pursed her lips.

"I didn't mean to offend you or anything. I just don't like people touching me." Tyler tried to make amends with her.

"How are we supposed to get married without touching each other?" She looked at him like he just said the dumbest thing ever.

Tyler almost busted out laughing. She actually thought they were gonna get married. He tried containing his laughter, which worked, but he did smile a bit, and of course she noticed.

"What are you smiling at?" She grimaced.

"Hm, nothing nothing." He shouldn't mess this up right away. His parents were counting on him to make this go right.

"Whatever." She crossed her arms.

"So," He dragged the 'o', "Tell me about yourself."

"Oh, okay. Well, I'm rich. I don't have any siblings. My favorite color is purple. I have never seen a fairy before,"

Hm I wonder why. Tyler thought.

"I'm about to be queen when we get married."

There it is again. Maybe she should know that he has no intention of actually marrying her. He could hint to it. Or just be blunt about it. Beating around the bush never gets people anywhere.

"Actually, we aren't getting married." Tyler took the blunt route.

"Yes we are silly. My parents told me so." She giggled.

"We can't get married. I'm already taken." He told her. Hopefully she doesn't take this too hard.

"Well then you're gonna have to forget about her. She's not important anymore. I am. I'm a princess." Jenna touched his shoulder.

She thought Tyler was straight. This is gonna be tougher than Tyler thought.

He picked her hand up off his shoulder and dropped it to her side. "First of all, I told you not to touch me. Second of all, I don't have a girlfriend." Tyler was the one to cross his arms this time.

"Then how are you taken? Was that a lie?" She raised her eyebrow.

"No Jenna. I'm gay. I have a boyfriend. That is why I can't marry you. Besides, your attitude is rotten so I wouldn't have anyway. I have an amazing boyfriend waiting for me at home. So, I think this meeting is over." He left her standing there with her mouth open.

He found his parents in the kitchen. He wasn't gonna waste any time to get out of here.

"Ma, we need to go." He said.

"Why? We've been here for 20 minutes. What's the rush." She asked.

"Jenna slapped me. And I certainly do not want an abusive wife." He lied.

Jenna then walked in, "Liar! Mother! He's gay! That's why he won't marry me! He says he has a boyfriend!" She stomped her foot.

"What? Now you're accusing me of lying? I think we both know who the liar is." He sassed.

"Jenna. Why are you lying? You know better. Especially when guests are over." Jenna's mom crossed her arms.

"But mommy! I'm not the one lying! He is!" She pointed at Tyler.

"I am not! I'm a fairy, I can tell when a person is lying." He said innocently.

"Jenna. Why would you lie about this sweet fairy boy?" Her mom was on his side.

"But I'm not lying!" She pouted.

"Mother, I think this meeting was a waste of time. I just can't wait 'til the whole town knows their future queen is a liar." Tyler played the blackmailing game.

"You're right Tyler, let's leave. Chris come on." Kelly started to stand up.

"Wait no! Please don't tell anyone about this!" Jenna's mom begged.

"What are you gonna do about it?" Chris asked.

"I'll give you anything you want! You can have money even!" She pleaded.

———

"Well that went better than I expected." Tyler said.

After making a deal they left, and were now halfway home.

"I don't understand why you had to lie." Kelly said,

"Well, before I came in to say we had to leave, I told Jenna that I was gay and had a boyfriend at home, so I couldn't marry her." Tyler explained the parts Kelly already knew.

"I could tell you were the one lying, I'm a fairy too, remember?"

And for the first time in a while, Tyler saw his mom smile for real.
