-Tyler P.O.V-
*Same day

I didn't want to go home. I know I'm in deep trouble. And unfortunately, I know I won't be able to get out of this one. I had called my mother by her name, disobeyed my parents, and walked out. So yeah, I'm not getting out of this.

I walked up to the door, and without knocking, opened the door, and slithered in. I was hoping no one was up yet, but with my luck, everyone was sitting at the dinner table. Great.

"Nice to see you back." My mom said, flatly.

"Unfortunately." I replied.

"Don't you love spending time with your family?" My dad asked with the same monotone voice my mom used.

"Not when they hate me." I answered.

"Your family doesn't hate you Tyler. Where did you get that from?" He asked.

"Maybe the fact that Jay is the only one who actually enjoys my presence? And if you guys actually loved me, you never act like it. It seems as if it's torturous if I'm in the same vicinity as you. Oohh, be careful, Tyler is breathing the same air as you." I rolled my eyes.

"Tyler, you are just overreacting. It doesn't matter anymore. What does matter is that you have your meeting with the princess tomorrow. And you need to be ready." I looked at her, dumbfounded.

I thought that was today, or else I wouldn't have came home. Life sure does love me.

"I thought that was today?" I raised my eyebrows at her.

"Well, if you were here last night, you'd know it was moved to tomorrow. Due to kingdom emergencies." She squinted her eyes at me, and pursed her lips. It made her look like a chicken, and I would've laughed but I held it in, it would have made me look weak, and in this argument, I need to look as strong as I can.

"Well, then I'm going back to Josh and his family. At least they like me." I said.

"Don't they live far away?" Zack asked.

"Yeah. But I know the way. I'll be fine. It's not like any of you care though." I was surprised they weren't trying to stop me from leaving.

"Have fun Tyler. Be home before 3:00 tomorrow." My dad sighed.

"Where's Jay?" I hadn't seen him since I came in, and I wanted to talk to him before I left. At least he cares.

"Upstairs." Maddie said. Of all people, I didn't think she would know anything about Jay, let alone where he was. She never paid any interest in her own baby brother.

"Okay." And I headed upstairs to the only family member I want to have an actual conversation with, even though he's way younger than me.

I knocked on the door, and heard a soft, "Come in,"

I smiled and said, "Hey Jay."

He looked up straight away and his eyes gleamed, "Tyty! I missed you!" He squealed with so much happiness.

"I missed you too! So so so much!" And I really did miss him, and yes, I understand it's only been a day, but I can't help it.

"Did you have fun with Joshie? What did his house look like?" Jay asked so many questions, he's always been inquisitive like that.

"Yes I did. But I need to get going, alright?" I hated to tell him this news after I had just gotten home.

"But, why?" His eyes lost the shine, and then I felt really bad.

"I'm going back to Josh. But I promise, I'll be back tomorrow, okay buddy?" I knew he was going to be mad at me.

"Okay." He just sat back down on his bed, and said nothing. Yep, he was mad.

"Bub, don't be mad at me." I told him, in a soft voice. I wanted to be gentle, because it would ease his anger at me.

"Hmphf." He only made a noise back, so I reached down, and gave him a hug before I left.

———

I tied Squirtle at the gates, before walking to Josh's house. It took 5 minutes longer than it should have to get here, because I may or may not have gotten lost.

As I was walking around, everyone was talking about some fight. I wasn't close enough to hear any details, so I'll just ask Josh when I see him. I eventually found his house, and knocked on the door.

The girl with the bright red hair opened the door and smiled at me.

"Is Josh home?" I smiled back at her.

"Yeah, hold on." She turned and yelled, "Josh! It's for you!"

"Alright! Just gimme a minute!" I heard a yell back.

She waited at the door until Josh came out of his room. When he saw me, his face covered in confusion, but he looked happy nonetheless.

"Thanks, Abs. I got it from here." He looked at her.

"Okay." And she walked off.

"What are you doing here? I thought you had that meeting with the princess?" He asked me, I saw his hands were bruised. I'll ask him about it later.

"Turns out it was cancelled and moved to tomorrow. So I came back here, I hope you don't mind." I shyly smiled at him.

"Oh yeah, of course." He took my hand and we went down the hall, into his room.

My curiosity got the best of me and I decided it was later enough, "What happened to your hand?" I'm gonna wait to bring up the talk in the town.

"I got into a tiny fight. It's not that important." He frowned.

"With who?" It was important to me, but I had an idea of with who, I'm just seeing if I'm correct.

"Clarence." He said flatly. As I suspected.

"Why?" I was so curious. He didn't seem like the person to get in pointless fights, so there had to be a reason.

"He was saying mean things about you. I wanted him to learn his lesson, so he wouldn't go near you again, or call you names." His eyes looked sad, or sympathetic even. His aura was indicating he was angry, and didn't match up.

"What kind of names?" It had to be awful names.

"I don't want to repeat them."
