"HONEY I'M HOME!" Tyler screeched.

"Lower your voice mister." Kelly commanded.

Tyler didn't know his mom was by the door so he got a little spooked, "Jeez, you scared me."

"Go get ready." She said in a monotone voice.

"Alrighty mother. Nice to see you as well." And off he went to shower.

———

After Tyler had finished getting ready, he wandered into the backyard, and sat on a swing, with a white fluffy kitty that had 2 different colored eyes. One blue. One green.

"Ya know. I don't quite understand why meeting the princess is such a big deal. I mean, I'm sure she's a nice lady, but I just don't float in that boat." Tyler mindlessly babbled to the stray cat that was in his backyard.

The cat meowed curiously.

"Yeah I know. Parents are so controlling. They never let you make your own decisions. It's like it's life or death if I don't marry her. I'm perfectly happy with Josh. He's my prince charming. He's perfect." Tyler sighed, petting the cat.

It blinked and meowed again.

"You're the only person, well thing, that gets me. I like you. I'm gonna keep you. I don't have a name for you yet, but I'm sure I could think of something." He picked up the cat and carried it inside the house.

When Kelly caught sight of the cat, her eyes popped out of her skull.

"Tyler Robert, what is that vermin doing in my house?" She almost yelled.

"Their not a vermin, ma. It's my cat. I found 'em." Tyler blinked.

"That is not staying in my house until it goes to the vet." Kelly stated.

"Then I guess I have to go to the vet." Tyler sassed.

"Don't sass me, or you won't see that cat again." She threatened.

———

After the vet appointment, Tyler found out the cat was a girl. She had no problems with her, which strange considering she's a stray cat.

Now knowing the cats gender, he could think of a name.

Maybe Parker? No, too humanlike. Kitty? Too simple. Janis? What kind of names are these? Tyler thought.

Whatever, I'll think of one later.

———

"Tyler hurry up! We have to leave!" Chris shouted.

"I'm coming!" Tyler rushed down the steps.

"Took you long enough." Chris said sarcastically.

"Sorry, sorry." Tyler held his hands up.

"Saying sorry wouldn't fix being late." Chris fussed.

"We aren't late though." Tyler argued.

"If you took any longer we would have been." Kelly rushed the three out of the house and locked the door.

Tyler stayed silent knowing his mother wouldn't let him have the last word.

Since the two adults don't have their own horses, they decided to both ride on one they bought a few days prior. Tyler had Squirtle from when he was coming home from grocery shopping with Jay and Josh.

"What were you doing that was taking so long?" Chris asked once they started moving.

"Making sure my cat was okay with me leaving." Tyler said.

"What Cat?" Chris sounded confused.

"My new cat." Tyler left all details out.

"And when did you get said cat?" Chris asked.

"Today." Tyler answered bleakly.

"And your mother allowed it?" He was asking Kelly more than Tyler.

"Yeah." He spoke up before she could.

"Let your mother answer." Chris scolded.

"Sorry." Tyler didn't know what he was apologizing for, but oh well.

"Yes, Chris. I let him keep the cat. He already took it to the vet." Kelly rubbed her temples.

"That's dangerous, Kelly. And don't you know the responsibilities of having a cat come with, which Tyler clearly can't keep up with ." Chris sounded shocked.

"Then let him try to have responsibilities. He'll never learn anything if we keep him in the dark. The boy didn't know how to tie his own shoe laces until he was age 10, Chris! He's of age now. He needs to learn to take care of himself. He will never make it if this continues." Kelly argued.

Tyler just kept moving behind, his jaw down to the ground. He didn't know his mother had felt this way. She had only treated him like that because of his dads overprotectiveness. His dad was overprotective sure, but he didn't know it affected his mother as well. His dad is gonna implode when he knows everything about Josh.

"Having a cat isn't gonna teach him responsibilities. Taking up household actions does. But he doesn't do anything. He just roams around picking flowers like the little dyke he is." Chris said.

Tyler's mouth sat agape during this. His dad had never used those words against him. And Tyler had never thought he would. And yet here we are.

"Chris! Are you serious? Don't ever use those words! Especially to your own son. That is absolutely disgusting coming from a father to a son. You should be ashamed for using that." Kelly stopped the horse.

Chris knew he was in deep trouble so he said nothing.

"Yeah. I don't want to hear a peep out of you until we get home, you hear me?" Kelly scolded him like he was 12.

Chris stayed silent and nodded his head.

"Okay then, let's get to this meeting." And they headed towards the castle.

———

Tyler and his parents made it to the city and as they rode through the streets everyone was looking at them. Tyler even heard a little girl say,

"I wanna be a fairy when I grow up, mommy!" She shrieked.

What a silly girl. Tyler thought.

They reached the castle and it look like it was ripped from a storybook. Flags on every tower. The big opening doors that look like they were made for giants. A big staircase leading towards the gigantic door. The stone that looked smooth but was actually rough to touch. Tyler realized this was much bigger of a deal than he originally thought. He obviously didn't change his mind about marrying her though.

They all walked up to the doors and knocked. They opened just a few seconds later as if someone was waiting at the door for them.

It was a woman wearing a royal purple gown, and a crown sat atop her head.

"Oh hello. You must be Kelly, Chris, and the lovely Tyler Joseph?" She said quite cheerfully.

Oh, here we go.
