Grant's POV

*3 Weeks Later*

I sat next to James and put my arm around his shoulder, he looks over and smirks at me.

"YO GRANT!", I turn to see Kace with his arms in the air still screaming my name.

I hurriedly look away before he sees me.

Too late.

He falls next to me and I start to laugh at the winded look he has on his face.

"Yo BRO there's a party happening tonight! You and ya man should definitely come!"

I look over at James who's just looking at his food and nudge him, "What'ya think"?

He looks up at me and shrugs his shoulders.

I guess that's a yes?

"C'mon Jamesssssss! Paleaseeee? I know Kobe wants to see you there!", Kace says with his bottom lip sticking out.
I look as James rolls his eyes but shakes his head yes.

Kace throws his arms in the air, "BET! The party is tonight so dress nice and don't bring ya car cause you won't be driving home"!

With that, he's gone.

"I'm going to the bathroom", James says and quickly gets up and leaves.

I stare after him. He's been acting different lately and I don't know why. What has gotten into him? Ever since we left my Mom's house he's just been... distant? Maybe he's traumatized from seeing my dad die in front of the house? I don't know, I have to talk to him. I can't have my Jamey-kins feeling down.

"Hey Grant".

I look up and see Kyle standing next to me. I squint my eyes, "what do you want?", I ask through closed teeth.

"Woah, I thought we could be friends now. I want to be your friend if I can't be nothing more".

I stand up and get right in his face, "Kyle, you tried to blackmail me into going out with you KNOWING I'm in love with James. I will never be your friend so please leave my life alone".

I turn and walk away but not before I hear his squealing voice.

"YOU'RE GOING TO REGRET THAT GRANT! JUST BE MY FUCKING FRIEND".

Wow, this guy needs a life.
