There is a large difference between Captain America and Steve Rogers. I'm Y/N Rogers, Steve Rogers' daughter. He is the best dad anyone could possibly ask for. Yes, occasionally we have a fight, but usually, it's resolved within a day. Other than that we do everything together. I even tell him about boys if he really wants to know, which tends to end in well, the birds and the bees talk. But even though my teenage years, I've been able to stay close. But he understands when I'm with my friends, he doesn't intervene.
Captain America, however, is a tough "you're not good enough" type of guy that I'm not very fond of. He's an all American good-guy with not a piece of dirt on his back. Thankfully, though, he rarely comes out. Usually only after a difficult mission when dad is stressed he does, that usually ends with me crying and storming out the room to my room, and dad (Steve Rogers) coming in and apologizing.
My mother died when I was two on a mission. Dad seems to never forgive himself for it, even though it wasn't his fault. Thankfully though, I have Uncle Buck and Uncle Tony, Sam (who's like a really cool older cousin), Aunt Nat and Aunt Pepper, and basically the rest of the Avengers to help out. They are all like my really close family and tend to stick up for me when I'm arguing with dad unless he's really right.
At one point dad did have this girlfriend named Sharon. They only dated for 6 months, and to be honest, she was always so sweet and kind in front of him, but she was a bitch when it was just her and I. I never wanted to tell Dad because I didn't want to get in the way of his life (I'm enough to handle as is), but everyone else knew about our troubled relationship. He was just blind to it. They ended up calling things off after he realized Sharon was going way too fast in their relationship.
I eventually told him how she was a bitch to me, and he wouldn't stop apologizing for months. I kept on telling him it was fine, and I would've told him if it was a major problem, but he insisted on apologizing. He still reminds me I'm the "number one priority because I am everything he has."
"Sweetheart?" he called from the kitchen in our suite of Avengers' Tower.
"Yeah, dad?" I responded.
"Are you ready to go?"
"Yup, just a minute!" I called back brushing my hair and grabbing my school bag. It was the first day of the sophmore year. Another year of all honors classes, a nearly perfect GPA (3.91), and more Model United Nations, Debate Club, and Quiz Bowl. Yeah, I am a complete and utter nerd. I rushed down in my long overalls, converse, glasses, and my hair in a ponytail.
"You look great sweetheart." He said and smiled as he handed me my toast and lunch.
"Thanks, dad." I said as we began walking out the door. We reached his truck, we both climbed in, and were off to school. He then dropped me off, we said our goodbyes, and I was off to class.
The day went by slowly. Very slowly. Finally, lunch arrived, and my friends and I texted to meet at the same lunch table as last year. My friend group consists of Jason, Cooper, Mark, Claire, Isabelle, and I. We've all been friends since elementary school, and have all remained really close. Also, all of our parents approve of our friends. We all are honors students with good grades.
As we were walking back to our lockers, there were, of course, the popular douches who decided to cat-call my best friend since second grade, Claire. "Hey sexy." Ethan, the ring leader of the circus called out to her.
"Just ignore." She whispered to me. I obeyed but my blood was already boiling.
"Nice ass you've got." he said and all his friends laughed. I immediatly turned around and made eye contact with him.
"Shut it." I told him.
"Or else what. Are you gonna stick up for her? She looks like a slut anyways." He and his friends laughed some more. I marched up to him and sucker-punched him straight in the nose. He fell to the ground and his nose started bleeding, some blood of his even stained my hand. Everyone "oohed" some even cheered. A teacher ended up coming out and sending me to the office and Ethan to the nurse then to the office.
While there, the principal explained to me that I wouldn't be suspended, I would just have to be sent home for the day. He said my excuse was sticking up for someone, and since I had a completely clean slate before this and never had been called to his office for anything negative before this, I would have lesser of a punishment. Then they called dad.
He marched in with a very upset look on his face. He was now Captain America, not Steve Rogers. "Mr. Rogers, please sit down." Principal Stevenson said.
"What the hell is going on?" he asked taking a seat next to me. Dad never swore.
"Well, Ms. Rogers here sucker-punched a kid." He said as I looked down at my fingers. Dad gave me a shocked look. "However, she did it because a fellow classmate of hers was calling out some inappropriate terms towards another classmate, and she stuck up for them." Dad's face seemed to lighten quite a bit at this remark. "Therefore, she will only have the rest of the day off." Dad simply nodded before getting up, me following. I looked down the whole way until we got in his truck.
"Care to explain?" he asked once we started driving. I sighed.
"This annoying boy decided to call Claire sexy, told her she had a nice ass and called her a slut." I said. Dad's face stayed the same. I could see his hands clench the steering wheel harder though. After a few minutes, I asked him to say something.
"I'm proud of you." he finally let out.
"You're not mad?" I asked.
"Not really. You did what I always wanted you to do. What my mother always taught me to do. You always do what's right regardless of the consequences." He said and gave a light smile. "And now you'll get to tell Uncle Buck you sucker-punched a boy."
"True," I said and giggled. "He'll be really proud."
