His entire body twitched like he was being shocked, but I didn't stop and he didn't say the word. I lost track of how many times we'd each finished. He just had and I was so close again. Just a little more...so close.
I exploded around him and he yelled out as mine forced another one of his so soon after.
I collapsed down onto his sweaty chest, gasping for air that didn't seem to be doing anything.
He was breathing just as hard, his muscles relaxing and contracting with each heavy breath.
"Talk about dried out." He muttered tiredly.
I snorted a laugh, but that was as much as I could muster.
"Finally done with me?" He teased in such a pretty, breathy voice.
"...tired..." I whispered.
His chest tightened under me with a laugh. What a pretty laugh. I didn't hear enough of that laugh.
My magic faded out of him and came back into me, just as sluggish and tired as I felt.
His hands went to my back as he kissed the side of my head. "I love you...so fucking much, Angel. Prom-" He cut himself off.
"Hmm?" I asked quietly.
His hand brushed hair out of my face. His voice was so quiet when he spoke. "Promise me you won't ruin me."
My brows came together and I summoned enough energy to look him in the eye. "Never."
He smiled sadly, but it didn't reach his worried eyes.
"I love you." I muttered and reached up, brushing my fingers against his cheek and short beard.
He kissed my fingers. "I never thought I'd get this. I'm not built for it."
I struggled to push myself up enough to look down at him. "You are, but I get it. I understand. We're gonna be okay. I'll make sure of it."
He swallowed and there was a hint of glistening in his eyes. Finally, he nodded, though I could feel he couldn't believe it.
That was okay. He would eventually.
After a little while, he stood, lifting us both from the floor. I rested my head on his shoulder as he carried me into the bathroom.
We were both worn out, though me more than him. My hair stuck to my skin under the shower water. I pulled it all over one shoulder.
Douglas kissed my neck sweetly. "Think you've got one more in you?"
I grinned. "Yeah, if I want to die."
He huffed a laugh against my skin, then gave me a quick peck on my cheek. "We wouldn't want that."
"Why? Do you?" I asked, even though I knew the answer.
"For you, always."
"Mmm..." I hummed as I turned to face him. "Maybe just one more then."
I shoved him hard against the tile and a wicked grin curved his lips.
...
I watched a damp Douglas dug in his drawer for clothes, loving the fact he had a drawer. I loved less the fact that he was dressing, but if we did anything more I was liable to pass out.
And don't get me started on the soreness.
I took that as more reason to cuddle him though.
"Come on," he said as he turned to me, pulling his shirt over his head. "Let's get you fed."
