I took his hand and followed him into the bathroom. I locked the door behind us, because as embarrassed as I was, I wasn't ashamed. And I knew where this was going.
It was our wet bodies clinging to the other while his hard thrusts slammed me against the wall. Me nipping at his bottom lip and him pulling my hair. It wasn't making love. It was fucking.
I couldn't hardly handle him. Even with us tangling up twice, we were still out of the shower in twenty minutes flat. I was quick and it seemed he couldn't hold out through my climax.
Good.
We dressed, me in a tank top and shorts, him in the t shirt and sweat pants the hospital gave me because his clothes were pretty much shot even after the wash.
He didn't let me pause to think before he ushered me out of the room. I stopped dead when I saw Kas sitting on the couch, looking down at his phone. He looked up with a wicked grin and I was tempted to go smack it off him.
Then I saw his hands. There were bright red scars twisting around his hands and forearms that were specific to my defensive electricity. I remembered right then what I'd done when he brought me back.
His smile fell. "Don't look at me like that. I'm fine. Lucifer was more than happy to fix me right up."
"I'm so sorry." I breathed, suddenly feeling tears well up in my eyes.
He rose to his feet and looked like he wanted to come over, but he didn't. "Don't be. Seriously. I'm just glad you're talking again. I thought you were going to check out there for a minute."
Douglas looked down at me with wide eyes and I, very purposefully, pretended he didn't exist. When I didn't acknowledge him, he spoke. "What happened?"
"Um..." My eyes narrowed at the floor and I sucked my top lip between my teeth.
"You dropped and she ripped through every one of them like they were nothing. Then she took the arrow out of your buddy and she just...stopped. Everything. She wouldn't talk or move or anything so I checked her out and took her to the hospital. Then your boy called and told me you'd wake up and I brought her back." He held up his hands and wiggled his scared fingers. "That's where I got these."
I almost shot him a glare, but then he did that and I grimaced.
"What are you doing here?" I asked instead.
"First to check on you -and I see you're doing just fine-" He said with a knowing nod at Douglas. "And second because I felt a little better for about two seconds before he called us into a war zone. Now I don't."
"Oh," I said, having forgotten all about our training. "Oh, yeah. Yeah lets go." I motioned to the back deck.
He smiled, looking a little relieved, and waited for me to pass before he followed me out the sliding glass door. I went to my mat and he went to his while Douglas crossed his arms and leaned against the door frame, watching curiously.
I crossed my legs just like before and waited for him to copy me. After a second, realization crossed his face and he did.
I took in a long breath and he matched it, then we let it out. We did that for a while and even Douglas' aura calmed more than it already was. And it was already pretty relaxed, even for him.
Kas still seemed just as wound up, save for a little tiny give in his aura. That thing was a beast all it's own. He could use it to attack others, but it twisted threateningly around him like it was searching for any weakness to exploit. I didn't have a doubt in my mind that it would strike if he let it and I wondered how long it took him to be able to shut it out that much.
