As a cool and perfectly handsome person, I'm getting used to have some crazy fans.
But those fans are mad. They chase me with a gun.
And blades.
And arrows.
"Vasyl, DUCK!"
A blade swung above my head. That was close, but all I say is, "There's no duck here, Turtle!"
"ARE YOU SERIOUSLY JOKING AT THE TIME LIKE THIS!"
"No!" I answered, "and I don't know why you're mad. You're the one who becomes extremely excited when you think you saw a duck!"
My friend, Alesh, laughs, "Relax. Turtle is toooooo slow to turn their neck when a duck appeared. Don't blame him."
"Can you guys please stop calling me 'Turtle'? And Alesh, you're not even that fast!"
"Wanna bet? I'm actually faster but I don't want to leave my lovely turtle behind!"
Eidlan frowned, "Lovely?"
"Oh." Alesh winked, "you know I love you too, Ei."
"But I'm your favourite!" I said, "everyone, STOP! We could use my power he—"
"YOUR BACK!"
Alesh in time to bow, Eidlan's index finger still pointed at her. An enormous arrow stuck near her feet, embedded deep enough to indicate what damage would occur if it was stuck in her.
"Asshole," Grier cursed, "that arrow should ONLY be used to haunt a wild boar or bear!"
"Well," Alesh gave a rope and her arms to Eidlan's, let him tied it to his, "sounds like a job for you, Vas."
"I know." I grabbed Grier and Eidlan's hand, "don't forget to pay me later."
And then I run.
For a sec, it seems like everything stopped. Water movement, sounds, even some lights. My friends' skin got pulled, as I tried to control my strength so they won't hurt.
I mean I'm fast. And when I'm fast, I'm stronger. Struck of the wind won't hurt me, but it could hurt them. Like believe it or not, I've crossed the sea just so I could see real penguins and came back in two hours.
That was the first time. I'm stronger now.
Over some practice I know that I could run while bringing any heavy objects. For example: My friends. That's why Alesh has a rope. We've done it a lot, and base on practice, rope help them not to thrown away.
"We stop here!"
Alesh released her hand, "Where are we?"
"Beach," I answered. That scary Disney Princess glance at me, I raise my hand to say sorry, "don't ask me, I just followed Eidlan's instruction."
"I don't even know where we are." Eidlan admitted, "I only pay attention to the circumstances and look for the beach according to its natural conditions. You know, types of plants, animals, geographical location... I mean, Vasyl ran very fast, we could've crossed many islands."
We clearly had crossed many islands. The accents of the people around are very different, their clothes too. Wherever we are, it is clear that the Scietids will not be able to pursue us. At least not in the near future.
"Now what?"
Eidlan thought for a moment. "Al, can you interact with one of the sea animals? We need information about uthe ninhabited island." He suddenly grimaced, "we better being isolated on a desert island than hanging around here, we never know who among these people are Scietid's spy. "
Alesh nodded, "But I have to swim there, it's hard to maintain interaction from a distance."
"You sure? I mean, it looks so far away..."
"Relax. Even if I'm not strong enough, the sea animals still want to help," Alesh throws her jacket and shoes, "just wait, okay?"
Eidlan catches her stuff while nodded in a deep frown. I look at my brother, we both tried to hold our smile.
"The weather is cold," said Eidlan, more to himself than to us, "what if she got her allergic reaction?"
"Then you make the medicine, genius." Grier couldn't bear to hold his smile, "that Disney Princess is tough and wild, you don't need to be worried."
Eidlan sighed, "Mother always said that I have to take care of Alesh, as she knows Alesh sometimes got her allergic reaction comes out. "Promise me you'll take care of your sister, don't give her choco or too much ice. Also sugar, that's not good for her... Remembered her allergies..." Now that we're both gone, I can't bear came back by saying Alesh suffers from her allergic."
"But is she a sister to you?" I teased.
He thought for a moment," Of course."
"Liar."
Eidlan didn't answer.
Alesh came back a few minutes later. No need Eidlan to read her conditions, we all know she llosesof breath and...
"AL!"
...she collapsed.
I wanted to catch her, to be honest, but I knew she'll be fine. Not that I ignorance, it's just... I know Alesh. After going through a hard time, treated her like she's not okay would make it worse.
"Relax. I'm okay. Just extremely sleepy and this is how I always approach my bed. This sand feels so comfortable."
See?
"Six days using a boat," she said again, "it's a few seconds for Vasyl's legs, right?"
I nodded, "Yeah."
So we run again. I know how boring it sounds, and maybe it is. I mean we just a bunch of kids who are strange and need to protect things, what so fun of that? Running from a mad scientist? Pffftt, what a far-fetched!
I wish I could say that too.
"Here we are!" I said when we arrived, "dirty beach, with forest in the back... Super cosy I gave it five stars!"
"Cut it off, mama boy." Grier took a sleeping bag and walked towards the nearest tree, "goodnight."
"Sleepyhead," I mocked, then followed him to do the same thing, "night guys."
Yet for my brain, it wasn't a night, it still a bright and productive day (is that a real thing?) My mind flew away. You know that Eidlan's closest unbiological sibling is Casya. She's very sensitive, and I have no idea how she felt right now. Her brother has to run away, and I haven't said anything to her. Not even a text (it's dangerous, Scietids could track our signal).
And besides I worried about her feelings, I also worried about our feelings. I mean, we're not officially dating... Yet. She's younger than me, Eidlan didn't give a hundred per centapprovement (yet), and I respect that. But... Oh, man. I like her, but is she gonna like me just the way I am? With all these weirdnesses? With the fact that I couldn't be with her sides for a long time?
Geez, that sounds really cringey.
I better go to sleep.
"Night, Cas," I whispered to the stars (That's also sound cringey(?)), "night Mom, Dad."
"And goodnight Vasyl," my brother replied.
Jerk.
He ruined the moment.
