This is gonna be hard for me to write cause eyes make me cringe 😂😂😂 I also wanna say that I'm pretty sure that Jin did get lasik cause they mentioned it in a run ep once, but I don't 100% know if it's true or not but let's just go with it. it will be probably graphic as heck and detailed so I'm sorry if you cringe while reading 🤷🏻‍♀️

Jin had never had great vision. Even when he was younger he had glasses. When he got older he started wearing contacts instead, cause he thought he didn't look good in glasses. But it was just a hassle. He could never see unless he was wearing his glasses or contacts, but putting in contacts took up too much time. He decided enough was enough, and he wanted lasik.

He was nervous, for sure, but if it meant no more suffering having to deal with his bad vision, surely it would be worth it. Right?

He went for a check up, just so that they could make sure he was safe to get the surgery. He walked into the ophthalmology office and greeted the optometrist.
They did the usual tests like reading the eye chart on the wall and stuff to make sure his vision hadn't changed recently, and looked into his eyes for anything that could effect the surgery. In the end he was given the all clear. He was ready for the surgery.

The next day he was taken to the lasik surgery centre with their manager to go and get the surgery. They'd purposefully organised it so he would have time to recover without being bombarded by schedules. He signed the papers and sat nervously in the waiting room. He was extremely nervous. Who wouldn't be? He was about to have someone poke around his eyeball and shoot a laser at it. Doesn't sound too fun. But he kept reminding himself that it would be worth it. No more glasses. No more contacts (unless they had to wear coloured ones for stuff). No more not being able to see while taking a shower or first thing in the morning. It would be worth it.

A nurse called his name and he was called back for one last quick check just to make sure nothing had happened to his eyes in the 24 hours, and he was given all the various medications. Some vallium pills to help with the anxiety and some numbing drops for his eyes. Despite the medication, he knew he would still be nervous, even if it was slightly less so. That's when he was taken back to the surgery room.

A large machine stood in the middle of the room with a chair laid flat underneath it. The nurse told him to lay on the chair and suddenly it all felt real. He was given a stress ball to squeeze and a few more numbing drops before they were ready to start.

He puffed out a deep breath as they wheeled him under the laser machine, and his surgeon greeted him. They started on his right eye, and he was told to keep looking up at the shining light, meaning he kept seeing things going past his eye but couldn't look around to see what was going on. It was an uncomfortable and anxiety-inducing experience. The first thing they did was put the speculum in his eye, holding his eyelids open. It was extremely uncomfortable, and he could see the metal device as it was put it. His heart was beating at a ridiculous rate. He had to keep reminding himself that it would be worth it in the end.

He felt the device being pressed on to his eyeball, and the anxiety only got worse. How did he end up in this situation. His vision blurred and went black as the device was slicing off the top layer of his lens. It was too late to back out now.

From then on his vision was too blurry to see much, but the surgeon was telling him what's going on. He was told to keep staring at the light, and so he did, focusing all his energy on NOT moving his eyes. He heard a loud clicking sound, and was informed that it was the laser. His fear got worse and it wasn't helped, by... the smell. The wonderful smell of burning. It didn't calm his nerves any that's for sure. He carried on staring intensely at the light. If he moved his eye slightly, he would mess it all up.

Finally the clicking stops, and he can relax a little. The surgeon finishes up and finally takes the speculum out of his eye, meaning he can finally close his eyelids. It's finally over. Years of bad vision finally gone... well, in one eye.

Just as he was starting to relax he remembered he had his other eye to do. The chair moved so that his other eye was now underneath the laser. And the whole process started again. They put a speculum in his eye again, and they device was placed on his eyeball again, creating a lot of pressure that he could do nothing about. He squeezed the stress ball he was holding even harder than he already was. His vision came and went, going blurry as it sliced the top of his lens again. His vision went blurry again and he was just waiting for it to be over. After a while of feeling something happening to his eye that he couldn't work out what it was, he was told to stare at light again, and he heard the clicking again. He stared intensely at the light again, focusing on not moving his eye at all. And after a while, the clicking was over, and jin finally felt relief. It was all over now.

The surgeon finishes up and takes the speculum out and Jin breathed a sigh of relief. Finally the torture was over. Finally he had his vision back. They moved the chair round so he could sit up, and his first instinct was to rub his eyes, though of course that wasn't a good idea. He was taken back to the ophthalmology office again for them to take one last look at his eyes to make sure everything was healing properly, and he was given the all clear. They gave him some clear eyepatches to protect his eyes while they heal, along with some eye drops.

He was so exhausted from all the anxiety that he slept in the car on the way home. Therefore, the car ride home was silent for his manager. When they got home he gently woke up jin, who went to go rub his eyes only to hit the eyepatch, and he was reminded of all that he went through that day. He drowsily got out of the car and wondered into their house.
"Hyung your home! How did it go?" A boisterous hoseok shouted, making Jin wince, and Hoseok apologized.
"Sorry, how did it go?" Hoseok asked, a bit quieter this time.
"....it was terrifying." Jin said with a deadpan expression.
"Oh..." Hoseok replied, taken aback. "Well was it successful?" He asked, rephrasing his successful.
"I fucking hope so." Jin said, once again with a deadpan expression, and pushed past Hoseok to the couch.
"You ok hyung? You never swear..." Hoseok asks, joining him on the couch.
"It was just really stressful."
"Would you recommend it? I was thinking about-"
"No. Don't do it. It's not worth it. Unless I have super human vision now, it was not worth it." Jin said, still deadpan.
"...was it really that traumatic?" Hoseok asks. Jin just nods.
"Do you wanna tell me about it? It might help."
"I'll tell you later. I just wanna sleep right now." Jin says as he lifts his legs up onto the couch and lays down.
"Fair enough."

Well I cringed so much writing this. Honestly I hate eyes so much I would NEVER get laser eye surgery if I was ever told I had to get an eye surgery I'd have a break down just 🤮🤮🤮
I'm really not proud of this one at all. It was harder to write than I expected, cause I didn't want to get to graphic, but it resulted in lazy writing, but it seemed like a waste to just delete it all. I was planning on writing one about little taes asthma but I started writing it, got to about 300 words and didn't know where else to go, so I deleted it, but I might try and write it again. But yeah this chapter really wasn't good and y'all don't deserve it but I thought I'd release it anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️ also requests are now OPEN please request stuff cause I need ideas.
See ya in the next one that's hopefully better than this one.
