IMPORTANT

I'm usually a positive person, all jokes and stuff, but there's no way I can joke about this.

I am a privileged white person. I'm lucky I've lived through my life with no prejudice or discrimination.

The events of the past few days DISGUST me. Just when I think the world may be starting to learn the meaning of equality, shit like this happens. And it's a painful reminder just how prevalent racism is.

I know I sound like a stereotypical white person right now but I'm not lying when I say I do have black friends. And I love and appreciate them just the same way I love and appreciate everyone else on this earth (other than yknow, murderers, racists, homophobes, transphobes etc.)

I will never understand where people get the idea that people are lesser just because of the colour of their skin. Like, where is the proof of that? Where is there even an ounce of logic in that? The ONLY difference between them and us is the amount of pigment in their skin. HOW ON EARTH DOES THAT MAKE THEM ANY LESSER?

Anyway, I'm not great at talking about this stuff cause I'm white and privileged and have no clue what it's like, but can I please direct you to my good friend LittleSpoonSebastian 's book, where they wrote about their experience as a poc, and also provided some good ways to support the #blacklivesmatter movement, which I will add screenshots of here but please just go read their chapter and give them some love if you haven't already please and thank you 💜
