"I still have feelings for you."

"What do you need me for?", Elizabeth asks her other friend Bryce when she meets him at the parking lot. "My dad texted me. He wants to have lunch with me so I can't bring you and Justin home." "Did something happen or why did he ask you?", the girl wonders as Bryce's dad doesn't usually grab lunch with his son, "I'll just ask Sheri then. Oh and we're invited to a party on Friday. It's closer to Jeff's place so I'll ask him if we can meet there first after your game. I'll be right back."

The girl loosens Justin's grip around her waist and walks over to where her ex-boyfriend is standing with some other boys from his team. Scott and Luke eye her but she is used to ignoring that, especially since her and Scott have a strange relationship. Liz never understood why it felt so weird between the two of them especially when she was his best friend's girlfriend. "Lennox, you're still alive after yesterday?", Luke laughs already.

"Monty gave every second drink to Bryce. Someone has to help me get back at him on Friday. We're invited to the new girl's party." "We as in all of us?", Jeff asks. "She invited me and said I could bring friends so I'll bring some. I will also buy some alcohol so we're even." "If you drink that much", Luke goes on and laughs whereas the girl hoped that he it would get boring eventually. "How's it going with you and Justin?", Jeff gives his first love a serious look, "Are you official already?"

"I've told you before that we're just hanging out, it's not too serious." "He's got his arms around you in school and stuff", Scott adds exactly knowing what his words would trigger, "Looks pretty serious to me." "You know what, it's no one's business. What I'm here for is a simple question. Hannah lives near to you so can we meet at your place after the game on Friday?" Liz decides to get over Scott's and her odd behavior for once and looks to Jeff again. She's got no idea what problem he's got with her but she's thought about it for so long. "Of course."

"Hannah, hey", Elizabeth greets her as soon as she enters the kitchen to meet her, "I brought some alcohol just so you know." "Oh, Liz, you didn't have to! But thanks. I'm glad you're here. Did you come alone?" "I didn't want us to be too expensive so I allowed myself to raid our supplies. And no. Some of the boys just take a little longer. They have to get ready doing their makeup, you know."

"Liz Lennox never comes without a boy by her side." The voice of the one and only Kat appears next to both girls as the blonde girl lays her arms around their shoulders. "Don't listen to Kat, I'm quite fine without them. Actually, a break from them is just what I needed." Right in that moment, the girl looks around and her eyes meet Jeff's.

The one and only Jeff Atkins. As soon as she notices him looking at her as well, the girl gets gooseflesh and becomes excited. She can never just take a quick look at him and he knows that. A second too long, he knows that she can't look away that quickly so he flashes her his iconic smile. It's even more exciting for the girl to see that he's still looking for her. Her body feels like a lightning running through. Instinctively, she bites her lip.

"The boy that she's staring at is Liberty's angel Jeff Atkins and none other than her ex-boyfriend but he's still off limits", Kat interrupts her thought explaining the facts to Hannah. "He's not off limits", Liz mimicks the blonde girl's look, "And I'm not staring at him." "No, of course she's not", Kat mocks her turning to Hannah and then to Clay who's walking by to stop him, "Clay, you're friends with Jeff. How would you describe his and Liz's relationship?"

"Can I not be a part of this, please?", Clay counters with another question and gives Kat a worried look. "No, now I'm interested, too. Come on, Clay", Liz insists and fills her cup with beer and Hannah nods as well which makes Clay even more nervous. "It's so cute how he already likes her", Liz thinks to herself. "Their relationship is.. complicated.. They like each other but are not dating. It doesn't make sense to anyone", Clay admits.

"I mean, he's not wrong." "Who is he playing beer pong with?", Hannah asks. It's kind of funny to the others because it's her house and she doesn't know who's here but at the same time, she's trying to find friend quickly so she's doing it completely right. "Bryce Walker, Sheri Holland, Scott Reed and wait is that Leah?", a slightly jealous Liz asks Kat in the end tensing up as she sees the way Leah is talking to her first love. How could she?

"What about her?", Hannah asks before Kat laughs. "Just a girl from the second cheer team. She flirts with Jeff at parties and Liz here gets jealous. Grab your popcorn, Han." "That would also describe their relationship", Clay adds joking. "No need to grab popcorn, alright? I'm fine. I'm so fine.", Liz snaps at them and calls for Monty when she sees him walking by, "Monts, hey. Can you help Jeff over there? Looks like he's being bothered."

"She's so fine", Kat giggles next to her. "It's for Jeff's sake", the girl is trying to tell herself. "Why don't you go over there? She'll leave when she sees you coming", Monty questions first. "Monty. Can you be helpful for once?" "I've been guiding her away from Jeff last time. It's Bryce's turn." "Then tell Bryce or Sheri. I don't know whom but do something about it." "Alright, boss", Monty says, his voice in a pitch that would make fun of his best friend, "I'll save his famous ass for you but you owe me."

"Didn't you save his ass for like a thousand times?", Clay wonders as soon as Monty left and goes over to Jeff and the others. "Yeah, but he's quicker thinking I owe him." "And you're really so fine?", Hannah jokes as well. "So fine", Liz laughs and sees Leah leaving as Monty wrapped Jeff into a conversation, "Now." "Liberty's angel always get what she wants, remember that", Kat chuckles and eventually, Liz finally changes the topic. Too much talking about her love life only breaks in her walls.
