„Hey, who shouldn't know what?", Jeff Atkins himself gave us our drinks with his typical charming smile that a girl couldn't resist. We were watching the last football game of the season all together with Sheri and he came just right back when we finished talking about him. "Maybe that Sheri would love to kiss you?", I joked.

"Ew, gross", she shock her head in disgust. "Excuse me? I'm Liberty High's sweetest jock, you could be lucky to kiss me", he exclaimed offended. "Yes, Jatkins, tell yourself that. Looks like Charlie stole that title away from you."

"What the hell's going on there?", he didn't even respond to that anymore but our eyes were glued to the girls running onto the field. "Go, Justin!", I yelled when he defended Jess after that asshole from Hillcrest touched Jess, the same boy that gave me knockout drops, "Fuck Hillcrest!"

"Wait, is that the boy who gave you the drugs?", Jeff asked me concerned. "Yes but Bryce", I stopped myself when he stood up, "What are you doing?!" "Kicking his ass", he shouted back and already ran onto the field just like a lot of other students, too.

"Come on, let's get our boys out of there", Sheri shook her head but still smiled since they were just defending us. Scott, Monty, Charlie and Bryce were all involved. Monty and Scott mainly with the boy from Hillcrest, Monty must have told my Scott about it. And Jeff followed. Even Alex was in the middle of the fight. "Scott, get off of him", I tried to pull Scott away from that rich kid while Sheri tried to drag Jeff off the field so he won't get hurt.

"Really cute, Reed, you need your girlfriend here. I'd only like to know, is she good? Is she worth it? How can you fuck her with an injured knee?", Dean tried to provoke us which worked on Scott who clenched his fingers to a fist and beat him down to the ground where Holbrook laid for a moment with blood streaming out of his nose. "Scott!" "I swear I would kill you", Scott spat on him before he finally gave in and left the field with Jeff, Sheri, Monty and I just before the police came.

"Shit, what do you want here?", Monty turned to the guy from the party when we wait by the cars together. "Monty, calm down", I hit his arm before he could even think of hurting him again. "Yearbook", the boy muttered, "I've taken a class, it's just.. I'll go." "Hey, I'm not going to hurt you." "I've got to go."

"Listen, man, I'm sorry for what happened during summer. I was drunk and completely fucked up." "An apology out of Montgomery de la Cruz's mouth is rare", I added, I had completely forgotten about the conversation earlier about which I wanted to talk to him actually but the game tonight was really something unique as Jeff would say. "It's alright. I've forgotten about it."

"You look like a good guy." "Do you.. I mean, my parents went away over the weekend. If you don't have plans already, you could come with me." Monty looked at me. Even though I would never judge him for that, he was still so insecure by the way that his dad treated him.

"I mean, it's not the same without you but Charlie, Jeff, Sheri, Scott and I are going to be okay without you for once", I shrugged my arms with a smile and turned around to look at his friend sweetly, "If he's annoying or mean or whatever, call me." "You're the only one who can calm him, huh?", he chuckled. "I hope you're going to be that someone", I winked at him before walking to my car.

I'll see you on Monday

"Fuck, what an evening", I groaned when I arrived at home and kicked off my shoes. "Finally, you're here. The others said we should wait for you with dinner but I'm starving", Jeff acted as if he prayed to heaven. We laughed, "Jeff, you're an idiot, just eat already." "Where's Monty?", Sheri looked at me questioningly.

"He had other plans but he's fine", I told all of them but it had a different meaning for Sheri and I which we would later talk about, "Oh and Bryce said he loves us, he seemed kind of emotional tonight." "Well, games like these are important to the boys. I'd compare it to you and...", Will began.

"And your endless love for me", Scotty grinned as if he had just won a scholarship but instead, he had just gained a black eye. "I can't deny that", I chuckled giving him a kiss on his cheeks before I looked at our diner deciding what I would go for first but stopped for a moment, "Wait, one thing that everyone's thankful for."

"I thought we were only doing that at bonfires?", my dad asked who had joined us, too. "I feel like doing it right now, too. I'll go first. I'm thankful for having my family and my best friends - not to forget my wonderful Scotty - with me tonight although Monty and Bryce are missing. But I love all of you and I'm especially proud that we grew closer even after grandpa's death."

"That was cute", Scotty smiled at me and took my hand in his, "I'm glad that your family hasn't hit me already and that Jeff's not a topic anymore. No, seriously. I'm just thankful that everything's fine now." "I'm thankful for my dad who helped me raise you to become the person you are now", Will said before my dad agreed. "I'm glad that you've invited me and that the team welcomed me so great. And thanks for hitting Jeff and not me Scott", Charlie made it funnier.

"Actually", Jeff chuckled, "I guess I have a lot to be thankful since my accident. It's just the second chance in general and that I've got you all who supported me during the time in the hospital, when I came home and now. And hey, Charlie, it's been a pleasure. Good to see that Scott has a good right hook. Oh and thanks for not hitting me again, Will."

"I have to admit, it's been a pleasure", he nodded with a proud smile thinking back three years ago when Jeff once broke up with me before we got back together and Will hit him. "I'm lucky that you forgave me for what I've done, Jeff", Sheri remembered the accident but had a smile on her lips, „And that all of you still care about me after that and that we stick together. But we did talk a lot about hitting now."

"Monty messaged me, he kind of knew that we were going to do this so he said that he's thankful for you boys that you're his brothers, dad and Will for helping him and for Sheri and I because we gave him a family." "Great, can we eat now?", Charlie and Will asked excited since they've been waiting all day so we nodded and laughed.
