Chapter 36

Naruto was screaming because Choji smacked him in the head with a stick. I was now sitting with Naruto and he yelled "Everybody hide! Quick! Get down! That ninja- where could she be hiding?" I sighed as I watched him lay on the floor. "Naruto?" Sakura asked. "Give me that please" I said taking the stick from Choji. I poked the bump on his head and said. "You already missed that battle with her, also missed another big one. You slept through everything." "You really are one of a kind. That's for sure. And I mean you're the kind that gets on my nerves." Shikamaru said

I noticed that Naruto noticed Sakuras hair. "Oh no! Sakura! Sakura! Sakura! Sakura! Something happened here. I mean something serious happened to your- to your hair!" Naruto yelled running to Sakura. I followed him but I just walked. I already bandaged my leg and my hand but it still wasnt 100%. "Oh. That's all. I just wanted to change my look... I like it better long but when I'm out in ther wilderness like this, and I'm moving around all the time, it gets in the way too much."

Naruto looked back at Shikamaru and asked "So what's your story? Why are you guys here in the first place? What's going on around here?" We all sighed and Shikamaru said "Explaining everything to you is going to be such a pain."

"Everyone just showed up to help." I said rubbing the back of my neck. "What?" Naruto asked. Tenten jumped in front of Ino and said "I'll take care of him now, Ino." "Uh. Okay."
When Ino handed over Lee to Tenten, she violently shook him back and forth. "Come on, Lee! Pull it together! Snap out of it already, alright?"

Lee fell to his knees as he woke up. "Tenten, is that you? What are you doing here?" Lee asked. "I came to help you out- what do you think?" "Wha? Where are those sound ninja guys?" Lee asked looking around. "Sasuke took care of them. Don't worry about it, Lee." Tenten said. "Really?" Lee asked. "Just what were you thinking rushing in there all by yourself? Look at you- you're a total mess." "Well, (Y/n) and Sakura were is trouble, so I had to do something, right?" Lee asked. "That was pretty darn stupid, don't you think?" Tenten asked agitated.

"Well, I guess I cannot really argue with that." Lee said sadly hugging his knees. "Ha ha! I know you, Bushy Brow!" Naruto said running at Lee. My eye twitched as I felt my hair rise up in nine sections. I flashed behind him and smacked the side of his head with the side of my arm. "Hey! Don't say anything bad about Lee! You should thank him!" I yelled as Naruto went flying to the side.

"You actually got her that angry..." I heard Sasuke mumble. I turned my head and glared at him. He sat up straight pretty quickly and turned his head straight. I took a deep breath and relaxed. "Lee, thank you." I said smiling at him. Sakura walked up behind and said "Yes, thank you. Because of you, I was able to stand up for myself, and I've become a little stronger." Lee started whimpering and got all teary "Thank you (Y/n), Sakura. But I guess my efforts alone were not enough. So, Sasuke, you are as good as your reputation. Just what you would expect from the Uchiha clan. To chase off those ninja, you must be very strong- not like me. I just got beaten to a pulp."

"Sakura, (Y/n), the lords of the Leaf Village blooms twice. When we meet again I will have become a stronger ninja. I promise. " I smiled at him and nodded. Naruto groaned and turned his head. "Hey, Sakura, come on over here! I wanna fix your hair for you, okay?" Ino yelled waving at her. "Yeah, I'd like that" sakura said walking over to her. I walked over to Naruto and put my hand on his head. "Sorry for hitting you, it's just that Lee saved our butts earlier."

"What exactly happened when I was out?" Naruto asked "Heh, so much. I'll tell you everything later, alright?" Naruto nodded his head and looked at my leg. "What happened there?" Naruto asked pointing at it. "Canceled out pain with different pain" I said chuckling a bit at how stupid it sounded. I looked over at Sasuke and remembered what he said about being an avenger.

I remember when I first found out about the Uchiha clan incident. I was crushed because I would go and visit Sasuke a lot. His father, Fugaku, never liked me that much and at the time I didn't know why. Now I guessing it's because of the 9-tails. His mother, Mikoto, was always so nice to me and I still dont know why. She was the only adult who didn't look at me like I was a freak.

"Are you sure it's alright, Sasuke-chan?" I asked playing with my hands. "Yes! Now come on! I want you to meet my brother!" Sasuke yelled grabbing my hand and pulling me. "Ah, alright.." I said smiling and running with him. As we ran to Sasukes home from the academy, people would stare and me and whisper. I closed my eyes and ran faster. "Wow wait (Y/n) you're going to fast!" Sasuke said pulling me back a bit.

"Oh sorry" I said slowing down. "You're really fast! We should race some time!" Sasuke said smiling big at me. "Yeah!" I smiled back at him. When we got closer to the doors of the Uchiha Clab. I slowed down and stopped in front of them. "Well, what are you doing, (Y/n)?" Sasuke said trying to pull my arm. "A-are you sure about this? I mean, what if you're parents think badly of me?" I said. I'm worried they're going to look at me like everyone else.

"They wont! Just come on, pleasee!" Sasuke begged. I huffed and folded my arms. "Fine.." he smiled and pulled me inside. As we walked around the compound all the people stared at me. I put my head down so my hair would block my face. Sasuke and I kept walking until we got in front of his house. Sasuke smiled and ran up the steps holding my hand. "Father! Mother!" Sasuke yelled running up to them.

As he slid the door open there was a pretty lady standing by the sink, a scary looking guy sitting down drinking tea, and someone who looks a few years older then us sitting with him. "This is my new friend (Y/n)!" Sasuke said smiling happily. I bowed a bit and said "N-nice to meet you!" I looked back up and saw that his mother was staring at me shocked. "What's your full name?" She asked walking up to us. "(Y/n) Uzumaki" I said smiling politely.

She mumbled something but then smiled. She seemed happy to see me for some reason, like she knew who I was. I looked over at his father I'm guessing and saw he was looking at me oddly. Sasuke ran up to Itachi and said "This is Itachi! He's the one I talk about!" Itachi put his hand up as a wave so I waved back. "Here, (Y/n) have some tea." Sasukes mom said handing me a cup. "Ah, thank you!" I said smiling up at her.

I never had adults act nice to me like this. Sasuke sat me down next to him. "So, how did you two become friends?" Itachi asked. "Ah, (Y/n) was being bothered about her hair so I told her I liked it!" Sasuke said pointing at my red hair. "How were they bothering you?" Itachi asked. "Oh, they called me Tomato and yanked it. So I ran outside" I said grabbing some of my hair. "Yeah and then I went after her and said I liked tomatoes!" Sasuke added.

Itachi laughed a bit at Sasuke. I looked over at his dad and he didn't seem pleased I was there. "Ah, I think I should go. My brother is probably waiting for me.." I said getting up. "Thank you for the tea and it was very nice meeting you all." I said bowing a bit. "I'll see you out!" Sasuke said standing up and walking me out the door.

I remember those times. I became very close to that family after that. I still never got along with his dad though, but his mom was like my mom. I may have only known them for a month but they were like my real family. If only Naruto was able to join me everytime I visited. I saw Itachi as another older brother and he saw me as a little sister. That's why I can never be truly angry at him. I want Sasuke to understand that I don't crave vengeance like him.
