Chapter 39

"Okay, here goes nothing." Naruto said and they both opened the scrolls slowly. There was a sign and that's really all. "What? What does this mean?" Naruto asked. "A man, a person?" Sakura said confused. Randomly a bubble appeared and smoke started coming out of it. "Oh, no. This is a Summoning Jutsu. Naruto, Sakura, quick! Get rid of the scrolls!" Sasuke yelled. Naruto and Sakura both threw the scrolls and when it hit the floor a poof happened. When the puff disappeared we all gasped. "What? Its you?" Sasuke asked. "Hey. Long time no see, huh?" Iruka said.

"Iruka Sensei?" Sakura asked "Looks like you've gone through a lot in this test." Iruka said. What is Iruka-sensei doing here? "Hey, wait, what's the deal with the surprise entrance? Why are you appearing with a summoning?" Naruto asked. "At the end of the second exam, we Chunin are supposed to welcome the test takers back. And well, it was just good luck that I got to be the one giving the important task of being the messenger for you guys." Iruka said. "The messenger?" I asked and he pulled something out of his pocket.

"And you made it just in time, too. And now- congratulations. You passed he second exam. To celebrate your passing, I would love to treat you all to some Ichiraku Ramen but-" "Ramen!?" Naruto and I yelled. "Seriously! That's so cool." Naruto yelled as he ran up and hugged Iruka. "Wait! I'm not done." Iruka said staring down at Naruto "So cool!" Naruto yelled not letting go. "Let go." "Believe it!" "Hey, Naruto." Iruka said and Naruto finally let go screaming "yeah! Ramen would be awesome! Haha! Especially after all the bugs and plants we've had to eat for the past two days. So great. I'm going to eat every noodle ever made!" Naruto yelled and Sakura, Sasuke, and I were now sitting on the floor.

"Where does he get all of his energy?" Sasuke asked and Naruto yelled "Yeah!" In the background a whole bunch of times. "Shut up!" Sakura sighed out. "Alright. Well, I can see you're still as hyperactive as ever, Naruto." Iruka said. Sasuke chuckled a bit and said "Now I see. So then if we had looked at the scrolls in the middle of the exam-what would you have done to us, Iruka Sensei?" Oh..Sasuke has a point. The rest of us turned our heads to Iruka-sensei and waited for his response.

Iruka bent down and grabbed the Earth scroll and said "As usual, Sasuke, you're as sharp as a tack. You have figured out the secret. Part of this exam was to test how well you could see a difficult mission all the way through. Simply put, you knew that opening tje scrolls was against the rules of your mission and if you had tried to open one-" Sakura cut him off asking "What? What would have happened? "If a scroll was opened, we were ordered to knock out whoever opened it. Some ninja found that out the hard way." Iruka finished.

Sasuke chuckled a bit saying "It's a good thing you didn't open up yours, huh Naruto?" Naruto and Sakura seemed surprised and I laughed. Naruto was sweating a lot but folded his hands and looked up saying "I owe you one. Thanks a million, Kabuto." Sakura was rubbing her head but soon said "Oh yeah, Sensei." "Yeah?" "What does that writing on the wall mean? The parchment the letter are written on is kinda eaten away, so it's difficult to reader it. We can't understand it." Sakura said pointing at the wall.

"Oh, please. Look, we passed, didn't we? That stuff doesn't matter now." Naruto said loudly in Sakura face causing her to get angry. "Well, actually, explaining that is another one of the duties that I've been sent here to take care of." Iruka said. "What, seriously?" Naruto asked. "That's right. It's serious business. Give it a good read. They're instructions Lord Hokage recorded as principles that Chunin should follow." "They're instructions?" Naruto asked and Iruka said "Yes. Heaven stands for your mind and Earth for your body. If qualities of Heaven are your desire, acquire wisdom to take your mind higher. Get it?"

"Uh. Huh uh" Naruto said and Iruka said "Alright, I'll explain. In other words, if your weakness lies in your intellect- Naruto- then you have to make doubly sure that you work hard to learn all the information and skills that you need to prepare for your missions." Naruto just groaned and said "Okay, I get your point." Sakura started laughing quietly but Iruka turned his head towards her and said "And you. If earthly qualities you lack, train your body, prepare to attack. So if your weakness lies in your physical strength, Sakura, them you have to make sure that you work on your physical conditioning every single day so it improves all the time." She stuck out her tongue and rubbed the back of her neck.
