Chapter 41

Sasuke was groaning in pain. Everyone was quiet except Sasuke and Yaroi's laughter. It's like Yaroi is stealing Sasukes powers. Sasukes arm out and aside him as his power was being drained. Sasuke struggled but he clenched his fist and yelled "Get off me!" He kicked Yaroi in the stomach causing him to fly back. Sasuke tried to sit up but he couldn't get up all the way. Yaroi stood back up and said "So, you've still got some strength left, huh? Impressive- for a Guinea pig. Don't worry little man. I'll make it short and sweet." Yaroi started running at Sasuke again. Sasuke stood up and when Yaroi tried to strike at Sasuke, he would dodge it.

Everytime it would be extremely close to touching Sasuke. Sasuke was slow and shaky as he moved. "What's the matter? Is that really the best you can do?" Yaroi asked. Sasuke kicked behind him but Yaroi jumped away in time. All the years I've known you, I know you can do more! I stood between Lee and Naruto as I held my hands tightly as I watched. Naruto looked at me and Sakura and growled. "Hey, Sasuke! Come on, man! What was that? And you call yourself an Uchiha? You're going to let this goon walk all over you! Come on, stop messing around and get it in gear!"

It seemed like Sasuke realized something because Yaroi was running at striking at him, he would dodge everything. Randomly Sasuke just 'disappeared'. He appeared under Yaroi and kicked him right under his chin. Yaroi groaned and went flying up. Sasuke jumped and went under Yaroi. That move...it's Lee's! I turned my head and looked up to face him. He looked surprised as he watched Sasuke.  "Isn't that your move?" I asked and he nodded his head "It is!"

Sasuke was about to do something but he randomly spit blood. "No, not again!" Sasuke yelled. I looked closer and saw that the mark was spreading in his body. Sasuke...no...control it! I felt myself sweat as I watched Sasuke closely. Soon, the markings receded. Sasuke grabbed Yarois back and spun him around once and Sasuke went to kick his side. Yaroi put his arm at his side and blocked his kick. "Heh. You're no match for me!" Yaroi said but Sasuke moved to the other side and punched down on Yarois chest.

Yaroi started falling towards the ground head first. Sasuke punched his stomach and yelled "Come back here!" when Yaroi was about to hit the floor Sasuke yelled "I'm not done yet!" While kicking the lower part of his stomach. "Lions Barrage!" Yaroi coughed blood as the impact got to him. Sasuke slid back on his back and pulled over on his stomach.

Nobody moved. Hayate walked over to Yaroi and said "Well, this one's had it." Sasuke started making noises so we looked over at him. He was slowly standing up, breathing heavily. Everything was extremely quiet. "I'm declaring this match over. As the winner of this preliminary round, Sasuke Uchiha advances to the finals." It took me a second to comprehend but when I did I smiled big. "Way to go!" Naruto yelled.

Sasuke was about to lay down but Kakashi appeared behind him. He held Sasuke up with his knee "hm, not bad...Funny. Before the Lions Barrage, your technique was very reminiscent of Guy's Taijutsu. You must have used your Sharingan to copy it when you fought with Rock Lee that time." Kakashi said. "You okay? Hey, Sasuke! You won, but in such an uncool way. You came out looking like you're the one who got beat up!" Naruto said laughing. "Idiot. Give me a break, you little- oh, well" Sasuke said smiling a bit. I couldn't really say anything, I just couldn't stop smiling.

The medic ninjas ninjas were taking Yaroi away. "Sasuke Uchiha, maybe you should come along to the infirmary, too, and let us treat your injuries. "I think you're out of your league with this one. I'll look after him." Kakashi said. He leaned down to Sasuke and said "Okay, up you go. You're coming with me." Kakashi said but whispered something in his ear "Before the preliminaries are over? I want to see who gets to go on to the finals." Sasuke said "Forget it." "But-" "and don't even think of arguing. If we leave it any longer, who knows. It may be too late. I've already cut you enough slack as it is. Come on. Lets go."

They were walking out the doors to leave. So, they're going to do something about the mark. I hope everything goes well. "Hey (Y/n). Maybe I'm just crazy, but did you see any weird marks on Sasuke's neck during the fight?" Naruto asked. "Promise me you wont tell Naruto about the mark" I remembered Sasuke told me not to tell him. "What mark? I don't know what your talking about." I lied. I'm only lying to Naruto so he doesnt worry. "Oh okay." Naruto said.

"Okay then. Let's move right on to the second match. The screen scrambled names again and we all watched as the names were chosen. ZAKU ABUMI VS SHINO ABURAME
I shuttered at Shinos name. Shino is a really nice guy but..his speciality scares me. Zaku turned his head and asked "Heh. Which sucker is that?"

Hayate coughed a bit but said "Step forward, please." They both walked up to each other. "Very good. Now, if you're both ready, then we'll begin." That ninja is the one from the forest, the one who got his arms broken by Sasuke. Isn't his arms his specialty? What will he do if his arms are broken? "If you fight me, you won't be able to recover. Forfeit and withdraw." Shino said. "Heh. But what do you know, I've got a little movement in one of them." Zaku said moving his hand a little.

Zaku squated down and pulled one of his arms out of the arm sling. One good arm is more than enough to beat you!" He jumped towards Shino and ran towards him. He went to grab his head but Shino put his arm too so Zaku just hit the side of Shinos arm. "You couldn't beat me using both your arms." Shino said. "Yeah, well I've got news for you! Try this!" He yelled something else I couldn't understand. Air pressure shot from his hands causing Shino to fly back.
