Billies POV
"Alright Taylor, you're all patched up and ready to go! Quite an impressive cut you had there. Now, these stitches will need to come out in about 4 weeks so we'll see you back in here then" the nurse said as she dabbed the last of the blood off of Taylors face. "For tonight you'll need to keep them as dry as possible so no shower for you tonight missy."
I heard Taylor groan under her breath and roll her eyes which luckily the nurse didn't see.
"I know I know. Just one night though love. Now I'm sure your girlfriend here will make sure you keep the wound clean until it heals properly " she said as she cleaned up the blood soaked bandages hurling them into a black plastic bag.
"Oh she's not my-" Taylor began before I cut her off
"I'd be happy to" I said quickly, smiling sweetly at the nurse and then winking in Taylor's direction.
"Alright. Well you're free to go. Goodnight ladies" she said giving us one last smile as she left the room
"Girlfriend huh? We just met?" Taylor chuckled as she got up from the hospital bed, wincing from the fast movement
"Hey take it easy dummy. Concussion remember?" I said as I quickly rushed to help her stand up straight.
"Don't dodge my question Miss O'Connell" she raised her eyebrow as she pressed at me.
I was surprised she knew my real last name. Seems like she may be more of a fan than what she's letting on to be.
I shrugged at her and smiled cheekily "she was just so sweet. Easier to play along than explain ya know?" I played dumb
"Mmhmmm" she pressed her lips together
"Cmon let's get you home" I said trying to change the subject
"Um... but we took my car here. How are you going to get home?" She said rubbing the back of her neck awkwardly.
"It's cool. I'll get my brother Finneas to pick me up from yours. Gonna need your address though mamas" I said as I pulled my phone out and handed it to her. She punched in her address in my maps without delay.
I took a quick screenshot once she'd handed my phone back to me and sent it to Finneas with a text message.

The drive to Taylor's house was long and quiet but I didn't mind. Taylor lay rested into my side the whole way as she slept. It's definitely in my favour that this truck has a bench seat that allows for super closeness.
It's crazy how in one night so much has changed. I don't know how I could feel this way about someone I barely know, and a girl too, but I guess anything is possible. Maybe it's friendship... maybe it's more. I'm not really sure right now. All I know is that I am so grateful to have met this woman. She went above and beyond to protect me, put herself at risk and literally saved my life. Shit nobody has ever done anything like that for me before.
I pulled up to a driveway on a quiet street as my phone flashed 'arrived'. The house wasn't huge but it was nice. It had a cute front porch which was lit up with two lantern style lights. The garden was filled with large full trees with thick branches that draped an array of orange and red leafs around the house. Not what I was expecting but somehow it's perfect for her.
I carefully helped Taylor out of the truck and let her lean on me for support as we walked up the front porch steps. I found the only other key that was on the loop of her car keys and pushed it into the lock on the front door which clicked twice as I turned it and unlatched.
"Where's your bedroom boo?" I whispered to her, still supporting most of her body weight. Luckily she wasn't all that heavy for someone who was taller than me
Her eyes stayed shut as she mumbled something I couldn't understand and pointed lazily down the end of the hall.
We continued in that direction down the hall until I found a door. This must be her room.
I pushed it open and helped her to her bed which was huge by the way
I helped her take her shoes off and gently pulled her bloody uniform off her. I couldn't help but stop and stare at her body. Her stomach was toned and her skin was covered in the most beautiful tattoos I'd ever seen spreading from her shoulders, across her strong collar bones, down across her chest were she wore a black sports bra, all down her sides and across her stomach and all the way down to her feet.
"You've got some drool" she giggled groggily as she looked at me with squinted eyes
I snapped out of my trance and pulled my hoodie off of myself and began to dress her with it
"N-no this is too nice. Bil I can't take this" she protested but her eyes dropped shut again and laid down on her plaid comforter.
"It's Gucci actually" I said to a now sleeping Taylor, chuckling as small snores began to escape her mouth. Why's she so cute.
I gently tucked her into bed and planted one gentle kiss on her forehead. Sappy as fuck, I know.
"See you round babes" I whispered quietly as I closed the door behind me.
Before leaving the house I made my way to the kitchen to grab myself a glass of water. This girl had style.... the walls had old school coca-cola and Pepsi signs, old number plates from places I'd never even heard of and pictures of her and Brooke throughout the house. On my way to the kitchen I walked past a second room with the name BROOKE on the door. Hmm..Brooke must live here too. I guess she's still working at the club right now though which is why the house was empty when we got here.
I poured myself a glass of water from the tap and drank it slowly, still studying my surroundings. I found a pen and piece of paper and scribbled something down quickly before putting it on the fridge with a magnet for Taylor to find when she wakes up. I don't even know if she'll remember anything after having such a bad concussion but fuck I hope she doesn't forget me.
As I began letting myself out the front door, a picture frame on the wall beside the door caught my eye.
It was a photograph of Taylor in her military uniform holding a small puppy sized German sheppard wearing a dog camouflaged vest. Maybe she was part of the k-9 squad? That's fucking rad.
The mysteries of this girl just keep getting deeper and deeper leaving me wanting to know more. I took a quick photo of the picture on the wall and close the door gently behind me as I left the house.
As I walked down the driveway of the house I see headlights pull in. Finneas.
I jump in the passenger side without hesitation
"Thanks for coming to get me bro! Long story! I'll explain on the way home" I sighed, exhausted from the big night.
"Who's house is this" he questioned as he pulled the car into reverse out of the driveway
"You don't know her" I answered bluntly
"Her? Okay hahah but who is she?" He questioned again raising his eyebrows
"Taylor. She's one of the guards down at the nightclub I was at" I answered already feeling like I was going to get the 5th degree
"Hmmm Taylor...She hot?" He wiggles his eyebrows
"Yeah super." I went wide eyed when I realized what I just said
"Oh?" His voice was higher this time
"But she don't swing your way sorry bro" fuck I shouldn't have said that
"So she swings your way?" He suggested in a more teasing tone now
"Yeah-I mean...I guess. Bro I dunno what's with all the questions??" I shot back sharply
"Sorry sorryyyy I was just asking hahah sheesh" he laughed shrugging his shoulders "but you think she's hot?"
I punched him playfully in the arm "just fuckin drive man!"
"Alright alright alright! Jeez you're act my weird tonight." he said with a grin plastered across his face "you can trust me Bil. Tell me what happened and all about this mysterious 'Taylor' girl"
I let out a long sigh and paused. Fuck it...
"Fine. Can you keep a secret?"
