I sat in the hotel room alone. After being here in Tampa Bay for 3 days, it was finally Billies concert tonight so today she was busy in meetings and doing her sound checks with her brother in the performance arena. I'd spent most of my morning down at the beach working out while Brooke watched and lazed back. I missed Billie like crazy but I was excited to see her perform again tonight. I pulled out my phone and opened Snapchat, taking a quick selfie in the mirror before sending it to my girlfriend

Within a few seconds my phone buzzed. She'd screenshot my snap and there was a Snapchat from Bil❤️

I sighed heavily into my bed as I snapped the phone screen off and lay staring at the ceiling. Why was I so nervous about this. Maggie was the most understanding, accepting person I'd ever met in my life. I just needed to make sure she knows my intentions have always been honourable with her daughter, and my duties as her body guard still stand... if anything I'm more protective over Billie now. Yeah. This was a good thing...I think. I dragged myself to my feet groaning loudly and headed for the door. Here goes nothing
As the elevators slid open I made my way through the lobby and out to the parking lot where the bus was. I knew she'd be there reorganizing and getting this ready for us to leave after the show tonight. My eyes zoned in on Maggie who had her head buried deep into a book as she sat at the table and chairs by bus. I felt my stomach become tight with nerves as I approached her "Uh hey Maggie" I said as calmly as possible and smiled sweetly at her "Oh Taylor honey hi! Lovely to see you! Come sit!" She placed her book down and gestured at the seat beside her "gosh that Floridian tan really glows on you huh!" She giggled as she sipped on her ice tea "Oh haha Thankyou Maggie. It's nice to see you taking some time to relax. It must be stressful being the Mom of Billie Eilish" I chuckled. Maggie always seemed to have a sense of gentleness and peace that floated around her at all times and I felt myself more at ease now. "Oh don't you know it!" She giggled at my comment "now how are you finding everything? Billie isn't giving you too many headaches now is she? I know she can be a little bit of a handful sometimes" "No not at all, Billie is great! I wanted to talk to you about that actually. Umm... I'm not really sure how to say this so I'm just going to dive in here and say it. Um.. Billie and I are-" I began to say before Maggie cut in "I couple? Yes I know love" she chuckled and smiled at me sweetly again "Oh. Um... well...I wanted to talk to you about this sooner and I'm sorry it's taken so long but I really wanted to make sure my intentions were clear. This job means so much to me, and I promise I take this stuff very very seriously, but it's important that you know that I care for Billie far deeper than just on a professional level. Your daughter is everything to me Maggie. I'd literally do anything to protect her and ensure that she's safe. I'm so sure about this and I know it's probably so inappropriate how it happened because you hired me to be her body guard and I totally understand if you want to fire me because I probably deserve it but I...I love her.... I love her more than I've ever loved anything in my entire life. And even if I can't be her body guard I'm still going to love her and nothing could ever change that. I'd give her my whole world if I could. I just want the best for her... I want her to be happy" I knew I was spiralling and rambling but I just couldn't stop the words from coming out. It was the first time I'd ever admitted that I love Billie but it felt right to say it "Taylor, honey, you're definitely not fired. We love you and we need you here with us. And as for you and Billie, I've known for a while now and it's good! She's different when she's with you. She's happy. You both are. I can feel it. This is a good thing honey" she hushed me with her gentle voice and reached for my hand, giving it a little squeeze. A calmness washed over me as she looked at me smiling. "I just needed you to know" I smiled back, feeling the weight lift off of my shoulder. I could breathe again "I think you should tell her how you feel sweetie. I can see that she loves you too" she patted my shoulder as she spoke "You really think so?" I looked down at my feet, feeling my lips tug into a little smile. Billie loves me? I need to go and find her "I know so" she finished with a little smile and nod "Okay. Thankyou Maggie. Thankyou for being so understanding" I hugged her warmly before getting up and making my way to the Performance Arena ————————————————————————
