"DAMMIT!.. STUPID PIECE OF CRAP Jon muttered angrily under his breath "What the HELL is wrong with this thing??"

I propped myself up on my arms and started giggling

"Is something wrong?" I laughed

"Damn air mattress went flat." he said "I'm going to need to turn the light on for a bit to see what the problem is and if I can fix it."

"I didn't mean to wake you up." he added softly as he reached over and turned on the light.

"Its ok" I said getting out of bed after my eyes adjusted to the light "I was awake anyways-I thought I heard the door open several times..." "you too huh he said quietly--glad to know im not losing it."

It took us a good 30 minutes to find where the leak was and patch it with the patch kit, but even then the damn thing wouldn't hold air--we soon discovered two punctures along the seam.--it was nearing 2am and we were BEYOND exasperated!

"Stupid piece of crap!" Jon muttered stifling a yawn at the same time. "Looks like I'm sleeping on the floor." he added.

As I was about to respond, I heard his doorknob turn- and his mom peeked into the room "I was coming from the kitchen and noticed the light on, is something wrong?" she yawned as she stepped in and closed the door.

"The stupid air mattress is falling apart!" Jon groaned "we patched a leak only to find two punctures on the seam that can't be patched."

"If we don't get some sleep soon we will be worthless to take care of Emma when she gets up." he added.

"If she wakes up early, Uncle Jordan and I can manage until you two are more coherent" she chuckled with a tired smile.

"Why not just sleep in your own bed Jon? There's enough room- it would be more comfortable than the hardwood floor." she said.

"Chrissy has been through a lot and I don't want to make her uncomfortable." he said "That and the fact that Allison would skin us alive if she caught us in the same bed."

"Allison needs to realize that you are an adult and can make your own decisions." Marlene said. "I might not like the thought of my baby boy sharing his bed with a woman when he's not married, but I have to respect your decisions and your judgment."

We all yawned and Marlene smiled wearily and said "Lets all get some sleep I'll see you two in the morning."

"Good night" I replied sleepily

"Night mom." Jon yawned as he kicked the air mattress over by his closet and shut the door behind his mom. As he picked up his pillow, he said,

"What if you sleep under the covers, and I sleep on top of them? I can cover myself with the comforter."

"I'm ok with that" I said sleepily as he climbed into bed and shut off the light.

We both fell asleep as soon as our heads hit our pillows--not realizing we were being watched in the darkness.

It was after 9am before we finally woke up the next morning- we lay there and talked for awhile before we actually got up.

"See, that wasn't too horrible was it?" Jon smiled as he reached over to give me a hug. I gasped a little when he hugged me as my pajama shirt had ridden up a little and his bare chest came in contact with my skin- it felt like a jolt of electricity running through my body.

Jon blushed as he realized my shirt had ridden up past my belly button and quickly pulled it down for me and then hugged me a second time. "didn't mean to make you uncomfortable." he said.
