A Second Chance at love

Chapter 42: Home is where the heart is

I fell asleep as soon as Allison, Evelyn and I got back to Marlene's. around 11:30pm, my phone woke me with a start.

"Hello?" I muttered groggily.

"Hey Sweetheart, I am so sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up." Jon said.

"that's ok" I yawned

"Its raining cats and dogs here, so we are at the Holiday Inn for the night and hoping we can get out of here the first thing in the morning." he said "I can't wait to get home, I miss you and the girls like crazy." he added.

I noticed his speech was a little slurred but, I just figured he was probably as tired as I was--until I heard several females giggling in the background.

I heard a door open and Jon say, "Donnie will you grow the fuck up and quit sending your trampy little friends over to my room!!!!"

"I'll take that key" I hear him say to one of them as the door shut and I heard it lock.

"I'm sorry about that honey" he said yawning "Donnie thought it would be funny to send some of his trashy friends over here- he thought I needed someone to keep me company tonight."

"That immature little jerkwad!" I grumbled.

"You're the only one I want to keep me company he murmured as I heard him climb into bed. "I can't wait to get home and spend Christmas with you and the girls." he added. "I love you girls".

'They love you too" I said "and so do I."

"I'll see you tomorrow" he said "goodnight ..Mrs. Knight."

I giggled as I snuggled down under the covers and said softly, "I can't wait to see you" "goodnight Mr. Knight" I heard him chuckle. We said our I love you's and goodbyes and hung up, I fell back to sleep shortly afterwards.

The next morning I was up at 5am, I was so excited- I showered and put on a cute outfit, before Evelyn, Allison and I left for the airport at 10am, I got the girls ready for the day, meanwhile Evelyn called to check on their flight--it was supposed to leave shortly.

We met up once again with the other "kids" families at the terminal and waited.....again.
