As the months passed Jordan slowly came around to the idea of his parents having a relationship again. Before long the guys were back on the road touring with their "Step By Step" Album.

I went to as many shows as I could, some by myself, others with the girls, I even caught a few with Mariah and Katie. The same held true during their "No More Games" Tour. It was a little harder for me to get to as many shows during that tour, since the night it started, I gave birth to twins(even though my doctor still swears up and down she only heard one heartbeat through the whole pregnancy)

Amber Elizabeth Knight and Kayla Lynn Knight were a couple weeks early but were both very healthy. I called Jon as soon as I was settled in my room after they were born.

I couldn't get Jon on his phone, so I called his room and we talked for a bit and then I broke the wonderful news to him.

"you'll never guess where I am" I said. "on you're way to see us in concert" Jon chuckled.

"Nope, I'm uh actually in the hospital. " ohmigosh are you alright? Is something wrong with the baby? I can get home ASAP if need be." he said starting to panic. "can you put the phone on speaker?" I asked him. He fiddled with it a moment and then said "ok its on"

"Mr.Scott should be bringing you an envelope any minute if he hasn't already" I told him (I had Mariah fax him pictures of our new daughters) I heard Joey Joe say something about the door and a few seconds later Jon said "I've got the envelope"

I had him open it and there was complete silence for a few seconds as all I could hear was the guys asking if he was alright.

"Daddy- meet your new daughters" I said softly. Jon started to say something and Jordan cut him off and said "you mean daughter right sis?"

"nope, I giggled Jon and I have 2 beautiful healthy baby girls."

After I filled him in on their names and all the details-Donnie started being a smart ass and saying Jon was going to need to buy "female things" by the truckload when it was that time of the month!

"shut up wahlberg!" he laughed. "think you'll have anymore sis? Jordan asked.

"I don't know that something that Jon and I will have to talk about." Jon took the phone off speaker and kept telling me how happy he was and how he couldn't wait to get home, I could sense that he was a little disappointed we hadn't had a boy.

Things only went downhill from there after the tour wrapped up, they took a break from recording and Jon started working on a real estate project with a couple of his friends to keep himself busy--in fact it kept him too busy he was rarely home.

After the several month hiatus Donnie got control of the group for him and the guys and they went back to the studio and recorded another album it was called face the music- it was edgier and different form all their other albums, and truthfully I didn't overly care for it in fact the only song I really liked was "If you go away" the rest was kinda.. Well...REALLY bad.

Unfortunately for them, the album sales tanked and tickets for the tour didn't do well either- forcing them to abandon the tour part way through it.

Jon continued with his real estate venture and was still rarely home an when he was he was always tired and..distant.

The next couple years were no different-- 1999 finally saw a change in him he was more his old self in some respects but in others he had changed or at least that's how it seemed. Emma was 9, Brianna was 6, and Amber and Kayla had just turned 4. We had talked about the possibility of having another baby, but given the fact that he was hardly home and that our love life was totally 1000% non-existant, the chances were pretty slim that it was going to happen.

For several weeks a neighbor kept telling me she had seen Jon at the coffee shop with an unidentified woman- to which I politely told her she was out of her tree. Mariah had also mentioned seeing him talking and laughing with an unidentified woman on several occasions. Late one sunny afternoon however, my worst fears were confirmed when Emma came riding up the driveway on her bike as fast as she could.

"MOOOOOOOOOM!! She hollered as the bike clattered to the driveway as she ran into the house. I could see tears in her pretty hazel eyes when she found me in the bedroom folding laundry.

"what is it sweetie?" I asked her as I finished putting the last of the clothes away.

"I Just saw dad" she said with sadness in her voice "I rode by the house he's working on my way from Aunt Katie's"

"did he see you?" I said she shook her head- "he was too busy kissing some lady. I felt like I had been punched in the stomach. At that moment the phone rang- it was Mariah

"I know this is short notice" I told her as I struggled to fight back tears "but can I drop the girls off at your place for a few hours- if not for the night tonight?

"sure" she said I thanked her, and hung up. I told Emma not to tell her sisters what she saw and then i got their things together and dropped them off at Mariah's. when she stepped outside I filled her in she was as upset as I was but gave me some good advice "always listen, trust your heart and don't do anything in haste."

I told her I'd call her if I needed anything and drove to the house Jon and his crew were working on. I didn't see him at first, but, Jim told me he was around back and he'd get him.

My broken heart skipped a beat when I saw him come around the corner in his t-shirt and dirty jeans that fit him just right, sweaty, his hair mussed from the hard hat he had under his arm.

He smiled when he saw me and hugged me "sorry if I don't smell the greatest" he chuckled "but, it's a dirty job and its hot out here today" I didn't return the hug "I'll make it up to you later" he whispered. "with what? An STD?" I hissed under my breath.

Over his shoulder I saw the others heading to lunch-Jim came over and let him know it was time for their lunch break and he just nodded, his hazel eyes fixed on me.
