Chapter 31 The truth will set you free

"We love entertaining our fans and performing for them-but its fans like you who give the rest of them a bad name and ruin things for them in the long run!" he told mariah

"Secondly" he added "for you and your father--who is defiantly old enough to know better, to sit here and insult me time and time again and hurl slurs at me regarding my supposed sexual orientation is totally inexcusable and uncalled for-- you could be sued for slander!"

I watched his beautiful hazel eyes darken slightly as they filled with angry tears. "I have always kept my personal life away from the public eye as I am a very private person and don't feel that it is anybody's business but, my own and those closest to me." he said.

"It is one thing for you to sit and insult me and say nasty things about me, but, when you start insulting my family and questioning the love that I have for them- you have crossed a line you can't go back to!" he said angrily as the tears slowly trickled down his face.

He brushed them away and continued " I will admit I haven't been very truthful with Maurice as of late, but, that was because I wasn't sure how he would handle the truth." "On the other hand" he said looking at me briefly " I have always been truthful to Christina and I have never given her any reason to doubt me or doubt my love for her."

He shot Mariah and her father a very nasty look as he turned to Maurice and said, "This morning, at breakfast.... Jordan wasn't lying...I was" "the part about the "friend" flying in and surprising me was true--and, Danny did stop by the room but, I didn't let him I just told him I was watching TV." he said.

"Christina is more than just a very good friend" he said "Jordan was right-- Christina is my beautiful wife." he added. Maurice definitely was stunned by the news as he said nothing.

"We also have an adorable 16 month old daughter." Jon added.

"Despite, what the two of you may think, our marriage is not some sort of fake sham to cover-up an 'alternative lifestyle'. " I love Christina with every breath in my body, every beat of my heart- she means everything to me. He said.

He reached over, and picked up the picture frame from in front of him and handed it to Maurice.

"Awww, she's a little doll!" Maurice said "She's got her daddy's eyes and eyelashes." "I wish you guys would have come to me sooner" he said to Jon "but, I can understand why you didn't want to say anything since I have a tendency to overreact a little at times." "a little?" Donnie chuckled.

"The two of you look so happy and so in love in that picture." he added "And Christina--you looked absolutely beautiful."

I smiled as he handed the frame back to Jon. Maurice immediately suspended the head of security for a few days and told him he really should take that time to deal with his daughter's wild behavior before it was too late.
