Chapter 37: One day at a time

"Hey now, break it up you two!" Donnie chuckled with a twinkle in his eyes and a smile.

Jordan checked his watch as Jon instinctively slipped his arm around my waist and gave me a little squeeze. "you ladies better head to your seats, the opening acts will be starting shortly" he said.

Since I had seen the opening acts several times, I told Mariah to go on ahead with the others and I'd catch up with them in a few minutes.

I watched as the guys headed out of the room and Jordan turned back and said "are you coming big brother?-you do realize there are 5 bad brothers from the bean town land not 4 right?"

"Be there in a minute J" he said as soon as we heard the door close, he lightly touched my cheeks with his thumbs and said softly, "I'll stop by your room once we get back to the hotel, that way we can talk."

He wrapped his arms around me and gently pulled me close to him-I could feel his heart beating quickly as he lowered his head and we shared a long slow wonderful kiss.

As we slowly broke the kiss he smiled at me. We headed into the hallway and walked hand in hand to the end where we had to part ways till after the show. He turned to me at the end of the hallway as I started to walk away, and said, "Chrissy?"

I stopped and turned to look at him and I saw his eyes sparkle as he said, "I Love You." I felt the words on my tongue, but for some reason they wouldn't come out of my mouth- I just gave him a huge smile and nodded and pointed back at him and prayed he knew what I was trying to say.

I headed quickly into the arena and took my seat next to Mariah. The show was amazing! Chloe didn't stop smiling the whole night. As soon as the show ended, Biscuit got us backstage and Chloe retrieved her things, I caught up with her and gave her an audio recording of the concert as well as a video of it and told her it was for motivation during her therapy sessions.-she smiled and thanked me. and she and her friends left to wait for their ride. Mariah thanked the guys again for everything they had done for Chloe and then she too left.

I hung out with the guys for awhile and then headed back to the hotel. True to his word, Jon stopped by my room at around 11pm. The first thing I noticed was that he had his bags with him.

"Going somewhere?" I asked him. "we leave in 45 minutes to head to our next show" he said sadly. ***damn*** I thought to myself.

"I was really hoping we could talk and spend some much needed time together" he said as I closed the door behind him.

"me too" I said. "I could call Allison and see if she would mind watching Emma through the weekend, that way we'd have the next 4 or 5 days together at least."

" I'm sure Allison wouldn't mind" he said she loves Emma to bits. I found her number in my purse and quickly dialed it--as soon as I explained the situation to her, she gladly agreed to watch her and even said she would do it for 10 days!

"you guys have been through an absolute hell" she said " you and my brother need some time alone to work things out and so that the little one you are carrying comes out healthy." she added.

"Thank-you so much!" I said. I talked to Emma and then gave Jon the phone so I could get my things together.

"Hi sweetie" he said "awww- daddy loves you too" "be a good girl for Auntie Ali while we're gone--I know you're going to be a big sister." "bye bye sweetie"

It was sooo adorable to hear him talk to her and watch his eyes sparkle. He talked to Allison a little too, I even heard him say, " I know sis- I love her with all my heart-I'm going to make things right--even if it takes the rest of my life."

As he hung up the phone, I headed into the bathroom and grabbed my things from in there. after one final room check we headed to Donnie's room and waited for Biscuit.

It wasn't too long before he and Robo came up to get us. I had Biscuit stop by Mariah's room so I could slip a note under her door thanking her for being a friend and to keep in touch.

We then headed outside and boarded the bus the brothers Knight shared-as soon as Robo and Biscuit disappeared into the night to get Jordan and the others Jon and I stashed our things in his little room on the bus, and popped a movie in and began to talk.

I'm not sure how long we had been talking when Jon's bedroom door banged open and Jordan bounced in with some popcorn "Cool!!-Movie time!!!" he stopped dead his tracks however when he realized Jon was staring daggers through him and saw me walk back into the room in my cami and sleep shorts.

"oooh sorry big brother!" Jordan said blushing as he sat the popcorn by the TV, "I didn't realize you were going to try to get laid tonight."

Jon and I glanced at each other and blushed several shades of red before throwing a pillow or two at Jordan and hollering at him to quit being so immature.

"What would Chris say if she knew what you were up to Jon?" Jordan added backing towards the door-- "she'd kill you for sure!"

"Or she'd throw something harder than a pillow at her annoying brother in law's head for being so immature and annoying right now" I chuckled with a smile.

"Now, if you'll excuse us," Jon said " Chrissy and I need to talk---ALONE!!" he gave Jordan a playful brotherly shove out the door and as he shut it behind him said, "goodnight baby brother."

I laughed as he grabbed the popcorn and we settled down to talk and watch the movie. As we talked, Jon brought up my pregnancy, and asked how far along I was.

"5 months" I replied I have a doctor appointment coming up in a couple of weeks for an ultrasound. "I hope I'm home for it" Jon said.

I just smiled and said "me too" "I also think this kid is an insomniac, I swear its active and moving 24/7!"

Jon chuckled and rested his hand on my growing belly as the baby kicked and he said "maybe we've got a little athlete on our hands" "or a dancer" I giggled.

"or as hyper as the kid is, another Donnie!" Jon laughed as he rested his hand on my tummy again "good lord I hope not!" I said "one Donnie is more than enough!"

As the bus drove on through the night we fell asleep in each others arms for the first time in weeks.
