Rushing back to me he brushed my stringy hair from my face and said, "remember your breathing, We'll get you through this."

"Heads up Jon!!" Jordan called out as he tossed his brother a couple balled up sheets and some towels as the teapot whistled.

Seconds later I felt the urge to push even worse than before--Jordan rushed over with the pan of boiling water that he threw the scissors in, he sat the unopened shoelaces next to it left for a minute washed his hands and grabbed a bulb syringe.

"I've seen them use these on TV he said "sterilizing it in the water"

They both continued to help me with my breathing and Jon helped me as I pushed, I was very scared.

"Holy Shit! I see the head!! Jon exclaimed all Jordan could say was "wow!"- he respectfully stayed up by my head.

"A couple more good pushes should do it." Jon said as he reached for the syringe. After the next push he cleared the baby's mouth and nose and the baby cried loudly.

"Just one more push!" Jon said with tears in his eyes, his voice thick with emotion.

"You can do it sis!" Jordan encouraged me as he hung up the phone.

I mustered up what little strength I had left and pushed with every thing I had and seconds later Jon laid our crying baby on my stomach and quickly opened the shoelace and tied and cut the cord. Jordan wiped my sweaty face with a cool wet cloth

Jon carefully wrapped the baby in a towel and laid it in my arms and we both had tears in our eyes as the bus came to an abrupt stop before he could say anything.

Jordan got up and went to see what was going on and returned seconds later with 2 EMT's as they checked me and the baby over Jon washed his hands and spoke with them.

"little brother why is the driver getting the riot act read to him by the police?" Jon said walking back over and sitting by Jordan.

"I cannot tell a lie" Jordan said "I finally convinced him to stop at a truckstop- I told him we needed some toilet paper, then I called 911 and told which truckstop we would be at and that we had a passenger in very active labor."

"Thanks J" I said.

"I didn't want anything to happen to you or the baby sis" he said.

The female medic got me cleaned up and she and the male medic helped me off the bus and into the ambulance the cop carried the baby and Jon followed behind him.

"I'll call you from the hospital later" he called back over his shoulder to Jordan.

As Jon got in the ambulance the female medic was finishing asking me questions and said "your friends did an amazing job helping you deliver your baby."

I just nodded. "last few questions, I promise" she said.

" Full name/age/birthdate of the baby's father- "

I looked over at Jon who was holding our new baby and said " Jonathan Rashleigh Knight 22. November 29th 1968"

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw him smile.

"you have a beautiful healthy little girl" she told me "you should be very proud of your friends for their help."

She went on to tell me she was 8 ½ pounds and 19 inches long.

"Do you have a name I can put down for her?" she asked softly.

"Brianna Renee Knight" I said.

At that point it must have clicked with her what I said.

"holy cow!" she said quietly, "I thought the guys who helped you looked familiar" she chuckled.

"Jon doesn't have a girlfriend though- he always says he's too busy on the road to settle down." she added.

Jon looked up and said "your half right, I don't have a girlfriend, Christina is my wife." she looked at us in stunned disbelief.

Slowly she gave us a smile and said your secret is safe with me--patient confidentiality and all, I could lose my job if I blab."

Later that morning the guys came and saw us at the hospital.

"man that's just disgusting and nasty!" Donnie laughed "I've seen those discovery channel shows!!"

"we did what we had to do" Jordan said "the driver was being a pinhead and wouldn't stop."

"She's beautiful" Danny said- Joey Joe nodded in agreement.

"Couldn't your swimmers make a boy?" Donnie joked "that makes 3 females in your house now Knight you are so screwed man!" he laughed.
