→ OCTAVIA AND JASON slowly snuck back into wayne manor and jason silently shut the door. they both shared a look before sighing in relief.
bruce, sitting on the arm chair, flicked on the lights, "where the hell have you two been?"
"jesus!"
"christ!"
bruce crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow at both of them, "not too long ago, octavia couldn't even be in the same room as jason and now you two are going on secret missions together?" bruce asked.
"we weren't on the mission together." octavia said.
"you two were still together." bruce replied, "octavia, i found your research on the case. i told you you were done with it."
"i-"
"octavia, what if you were hurt. or worse, killed? this is why we don't go on missions without me. you put yourself and jason at risk." bruce lectures octavia. octavia looked down. jason glances over at octavia and back at bruce.
"it was my idea." jason spoke up.
"what?" octavia asked softly, looking up. "what?" bruce asked, turning to jason.
"i knew how important the mission was to octavia and i finished it for her. i enlisted her to help me, not the other way around." jason explained.
"octavia, is this true?" bruce asked.
octavia looked at jason, jason nodded slightly, "yes. yes, it is." octavia answered.
bruce sighed softly, "don't let this happen again." bruce said.
"get some rest, both of you." bruce said, motioning for them to leave.
jason and octavia walked away, heading to their rooms. "what the fuck was that?" octavia asked, stopping jason once they were away from bruce.
"what do you mean-"
"you know what i mean. why did you take the blame? i was handling it." octavia said.
"you were not handling it, octavia." jason replied. "you looked like you need my help... again."
"i can handle myself."
"i know, but i did shorten the lecture for the both of us." jason said with a smile. octavia laughed softly and looked away from jason. "did i just make you laugh?" jason asked.
