It was dark and cold downstairs. Everyone is asleep and all the lights are off. Except for the light emanating from the fridge in the kitchen.

Honesty scanned the insides of the fridge, their one hand vaguely holding their stomache in hunger. They turned a bottle of apple juice around to check the expiration date. Disappointingly, it's expired. Honesty sighed.

'No snacks left in the kitchen,' he muttered to himself.

'I am literally right here.'

Honesty jumped at the response. They turned and spotted a Rebel, leaning on the counter and a hand on his chest, indicating how offensive Honesty was being.

'Oh, Rebel,' whispered Honesty, reflectively clutching their chest in relief. 'Really, you could've notified your presence in a less chaotic way.'

'That wasn't at all chaotic,' Rebel replied, 'you're just too easy to scare.'

Honesty hummed in reply, closing the fridge door. 'Shouldn't you be asleep?'

'Sleep is for the weak,' he said, walking out of the kitchen. Honesty followed him.

'There's nothing wrong with getting enough sleep, Rebel.'

'Fine, but that's still no reason for me to sleep.'

'It's 12 in the morning, please sleep.'

Crash!

As soon as Honesty said that, something was broken upstairs. The ear piercing sound painfully sliced through the cold midnight silence.

'What was that?' Honesty whispered as they shifted anxious glances between the dark stairway and Rebel, who looked just as anxious.

'Wanna go out and walk?' Rebel asked quickly, grabbing Honesty's hand and pulling them away from the stairway. Honesty pulled his hand back and stopped.

'Something's upstairs and you wanna take a walk?' they asked urgently, walking back towards the stairs and up. Rebel caught up with them and grabbed their wrist roughly as they were almost at the last few steps. Honesty winced and turned to face Rebel.

'Sorry,' Rebel breathed quickly. Honesty eyed him worryingly and suspiciously. They took a breath and descended a few steps to level their friend. They stared at his eyes and started slowly.

'Rebel,' they spoke calmly, 'I need you to swear—'

'Fuck.'

'I— I meant promise — I need you to promise that you're not doing anything stupid up there.'

Honesty could sense assurance in Rebel's gaze. 'I promise,' he said, thumb caressing the back of Honesty's hand. 'Look, you should go and sleep. That was probably Helcaron knocking stuff over again.'

Honesty searched his face for any signs of lie, but his face barely showed any. Honesty nodded gingerly. 'Okay.'

Rebel took a last glance at his friend and ascended up the stairs, leaving Honesty alone in the dark stairway. 'That was suspiciously easy,' they thought, as they walked up the stairs to their own bedroom.

Rebel opened the door to his bedroom and was greeted face to face by a pillow.

'That's fucking hilarious, Murder,' he replied, picking the pillow up. The next thing he noticed was the broken vodka bottle on the floor.

'Yo, where's the food?' Chaos chimed in. Rebel shook his head and sat on Violence's bed. 'We all out, Chaos.' Rebel hugged and placed his head on Murder's pillow, staring at the floor.
