The seven living together was going shockingly well the first month. They laid low and received updates from Jester about Batman and Gordon's hunt for them. It had taken some convincing but Althea and Jerome had agreed to stay home for awhile until someone else pissed off the bat.
This meant Harley was not that shocked when she came home from the store to loud punk music blaring and the pair's bedroom in the living room. Althea's wailing to the radio filled the air as her mother sat bags down in the kitchen with a sigh, her fingers crossed the young woman wasn't remodeling and was only painting.
Hey, pretty girl let's have a party tonight
I'll be your Dracula and I will take the first bite
'Cause you're a vampire slayer my pretty little killer
I think I fell in love with a beautiful sinner
Hey, pretty boy let's have a slaughter tonight
She's got a crucifix and she's gonna take your life
This massacre's for killers I wanna be a sinner
You're the one who's dead so take your last breathHarley cackled as she followed the shouting into Althea's room to see the walls and ceiling being painted black.
"This is an intense color."
Althea turned to her mom with black handprints on the front of her shirt with a grin.
"After I paint it black I'm going to use this cool neon green and purple paint Cherry brought to add flair."
Jerome turned with hands covered in paint with a smirk,
"I wanted to go blood red but she said that was your thing."
Harley shook her head and sighed,
"What is J.J doing?"
Althea laughed,
"Auntie Lucy is helping him stalk Bat-Bears in his room."
The young duo went back to painting as 'Mommy Can I Go Out And Kill Tonight' blared from the Bluetooth setup the green haired girl had. Harley shook her head and wandered off to put groceries away.
Several hours and paint fights later Jerome was sitting in the middle of the floor watching Althea paint purple clown face outlines with HaHas in green on the ceiling. One wall had been graffitied with her name and the opposite wall his. The wall their bed against with 'Valeska'. Jerome was impressed, obviously his wife had been tagging in her adolescence.
"Alley girl were you a tagger?"
Althea shrugged,
"I went with a guy I dated from public school for awhile. Ever see the stenciled black and green girl wearing a crown?"
Jerome grinned,
"Yeah I did a few times when the circus would come through. Wasn't it usually coupled with some weird blue alien guy?"
His green haired wife grinned,
"Yep! Lol that was us. After we split I went around and tagged the words "jokes on you" over all of them."
She finished the ceiling with a grin and a satisfied sigh.
"I'm fucking awesome! Now let's get our shit back in here."
Jason's voice boomed as they were staring at the ceiling,
"Looks great kiddo. Glad to see you staying busy. Want some help getting your shit out of the living room?"
The pair laughed and followed the older man out to clean up the mess they had made in the living room.
Once the bedroom was put back together Althea grumbled she needed new bedding to match the walls. Harley yelled out to come eat and everyone clamored into the kitchen as she grinned watching. Harley couldn't help but be happy with everyone under one roof. J had moved to Metropolis with his new girlfriend but everyone else was there.
