The months dragged on and Althea slipped out when she could for petty theft and grenade launching. Lucy had opted to stay home and not fight with Johnny after the jewelry store. Harley and Jason had been spending more and more time in the Narrows watching the GCPD rebuild.
Althea and J.J stomped through the house both yelling out how bored they were. Jerome had taken to the kitchen to look secretly at blueprints for Gotham International. Hearing his little family stomping he quickly put them away and turned to holler,
"Alley Girl stop pulling Junior into your tantrums! Junior stop letting your mom use you to piss me off."
Althea rolled her eyes at J.J and grinned,
"We're bored this house sucks! We wanna leave!"
The small boy looked to his mom with a grin matching hers and shouted,
"I hate this house! I wanna go play!"
Jerome groaned and replied,
"When your sister is here and out of your mommas belly we can go do something fun."
The red head wandered into the living room where his small growing family stood glaring at the doorway as he entered.
"Alley Girl you got one more month, suck it up. Lucy hasn't bitched once."
Althea grinned,
"One, she doesn't like to fight with Johnny. Trust me she's miserable too. And two, she's having twins. She can barley move. She's a whale."
Lucy's shriek came into the room before she did,
"I am not a fucking whale you damn walrus!"
Althea's laughter filled the home as she cackled. She turned to her husband with a frown,
"I wanna leave! How about ice cream for reals? You, me and J.J?"
Jerome eyed the pregnant woman before him and his son,
"Ice cream? Drive-thru no funny shit?"
Althea clapped her hands and grinned
"Fuck yes!!! I swear!! Can we drive around Gotham while we eat it?"
Jerome groaned,
"Fine, Ace drives us. We are not seen, no crazy driving no stops."
The pregnant woman yelled Ace's name and helped the excited child next to her into his shoes. Jerome grinned, everyone had been cooped up, maybe a drive and ice cream like a normal family would calm both his son and wife down for the remainder of her pregnancy.
Lucy asked from the chair she had fell into,
"Bring me some cherry chip?"
Althea shrugged,
"Maybe."
The trio climbed into the back of black Escalade as Ace climbed into the passenger seat.
"Take us to Before It Melts, they have a drive-thru."
Jerome placed his arm around his wife's shoulders with a smug grin, he knew this was the last outing he was going to be able to keep her under the radar. The red head was going to enjoy it.
The trio got their ice cream and munched their ice cream concoctions as they drove leisurely through the Narrows. Althea watched out the window as her stomping grounds passed around her. The itch to run the streets pulling in her veins.
Ace muttered a 'fuck' and stared into the rear view mirror. Jerome turned around and frowned, the fuck was The Bat doing following them.
Althea grinned,
"Uncle Batsy! Take him for a drive darling Ace. I'll let momma know what's going on!"
Althea began tapping a text into her phone as J.J. clapped happily in the third row behind them and cheering. His first Batsy chase. It was a family tradition of sorts!
"Kill the Bat!"
Althea giggled and Jerome couldn't help but laugh along with her. Of all the nonsense Batman has caught them doing, taking their kid for ice cream was prolly the funniest.
Ace moved quickly through the streets as a sleek red and black corvette passed them and spun around behind the Batmobile.
"Moms here"
Jerome turned and watched as Jason hung out the passenger side and shot a weird looking shotgun at the Batmobile's back tires. The bulletproof car spun out as the tires blew. Ace slowed as Althea demanded he stop to see what happened next.
Jason jumped from the car as Batman did. He kept the large gun focused on the vigilante as Harley slipped from the driver's seat with grace and a grin.
"Really Batsy? Harassing families out for ice cream? Tell me what were they doing?"
Batman growled,
"They're wanted criminals. That child doesn't have a-"
Jason shot the ground next to Batman's boots.
"My grandson is fine. He's happy, healthy and well taken care of. Your dad doesn't get my grandchild. If he wants one so bad tell Dick to knock up Babs."
Batman took a cautious step towards Harley which led to Jason pushing the gun into his face.
Althea jumped out of the truck before Jerome could stop her and marched hormones of rage towards the bat pulled a knife from her pocket.
"No no no you don't get to say anything about my kid Damien. Nothing! I've done nothing in months! I've been raising my kid and fucking my husband! So we do this two ways."
Jason and Harley glared at the green and purple haired girl as she rolled the knife between her fingers.
"You leave my kids alone. You tell no one you seen us. Oooorrrrrrrr, here's the fun part! I tell everyone who you are, who your family is and who everyone else is will fall into place pretty easily after that. You want to come for me when I'm acting foolish go ahead. You stay the fuck away from my kids. They're off fucking limits Mr-raised-by-fucking-Assassins."
Batman glared at the pregnant woman in front of him grinning. Damien knew Althea wasn't bluffing. Bruce had warned his son that the police incident showed the length she'd go to keep J.J.
"Fine, but the minute you're alone I'm sending you all back to Arkham cages."
Harley cackled
"And we shipped in new Bat-fighting toys in tonight for the whole family. Just like this one. Figured we would even up the odds."
Batman pulled his grapple gun out and flew off into the rooftops as Althea gave a sheepish giggle and announced,
"Man my kids pick some fabulous times to come!!"
A puddle of water surrounded her feet as she stepped out of it and kicked her shoes off leaving them in the road.
"Let's go home and have a baby I suppose!"
