Sister Tayo's house wasn't as luxurious as I expected! A house with two rooms and a sitting room. One toilet in between the rooms.
I can cope, right? I asked myself the fifth time today. What could possibly go wrong?!
"Good morning Rose, you'll be enrolled in a new school today. It's risky if you go to your school; I mean your former school because it's way too far from here. Buuuuut I promise you'll like this new school." Sister Tayo said.
All I was able to hear was; new school and risky.
I wasn't focused on what was saying.
"Ok ma," I said.
I'll get ready"' I added.
It was a ten minutes drive to the school.
I was told the school was one of the best in that area. Now we're here. My subconscious added.
I was given a uniform and I had to get new books.
"This is your class" a woman who I suppose was the headmistress of the school said.
The students all looked rough and haggard; my former classmates were organized and neat. How do I cope?
"Hello, students," The headmistress said.
"You are welcome Mrs. Ajayi" They chorused.
Oh, she's Mrs. Ajayi.
"This is Rose, your new classmate", she said smiling widely at me.
"You can have your seat, Rose." She said pointing at a chair beside a boy.
Even worse! I can't believe they even get to share a locker.
Sister Tayo left immediately I was given the uniform, I couldn't have been more grateful to her.
"She's looking nice" I heard a voice behind.
"Hey! I'm Alex and you're?! " the boy beside me said.
"Rose," I said not wanting to be asked any more questions.
"Cool," he said.
Where do you stay" he asked further.
I could kill you if you ask me any more questions. My subconscious added.
" I stay around I just moved in," I said facing the board.
"I stay around too if your...." he was about to complete his sentence when a teacher walked in.
"Settle down everyone," he said almost shouting.
