Chapter 6

  The four were at the beach watching Tsukasa catch fish. Once he brought enough fish on land Miku quickly went to work by smoking it. Of course, she had to explain to Taiju what she was doing.

"With Miku and me we'll have a stock of preserved food," Tsukasa said.

"Yup and now we can finally take the first step towards civilization," Senku announced.

"We were at step zero," Taiju says.

Miku replies, "We have to survive first in order for civilization to begin."

"So now is the fun quiz time. What's the most important thing that we need in modern civilization? 10 billion points for the right answer," Senku states.

"A smartphone," Taiju exclaims.

"Taiju where are we going to get the materials to build one! Your mind is millions of years in the future," Miku yells out.

"Iron maybe," Tsukasa asks.

"We'll need iron but there's something more convenient. Miku do you know the answer," Senku says.

'Damn it. I knew I should have studied more chemistry,' Miku thought.

"Ummmm....well. If we want more food we need fertilizer to farm," Miku says nervously.

"Close but not quite. Calcium carbonate," Senku says, "It's the stuff they used to trace lines in stadiums."

"Then in order to get something-carbonate, we need to search for a gym's storeroom," Taiju asks.

"Do you see any buildings around Taiju," Miku says.

"She's correct big guy," Senku says while holding up a seashell, "Remember the shell that was so useful to take care of your beard. By just crushing it to dust we can create that something-carbonate."

After that Taiju went to work collecting the seashells and crushing them, with Miku's help of course. Senku went on to explain calcium carbonate uses.

"There are four deadly important ways to use it. Miku was probably the closest out of your three. First, agriculture. We can get rid of hydrogen ions with calcium carbonate. So it acts as a sort of fertilizer. Second, by heating it and mixing it with sand we can make mortar. It's like baby cement. Third, soap. In this stone world where disease means game over, this small block that eliminates bacteria is the life stone that replaces doctors."

"In other words it's Dr.Stone," Miku said.

Senku smiles at Miku, "Exactly."

Tsukasa comes up to both Miku and Senku, "Senku you're a wonderful guy. And you Miku, are an amazing girl. Senku even during the fight just after my revival that clear situation report in a split second. I've never seen a guy with a sharper mind. And you Miku, are a strong and smart girl. I have respect for you both, from the bottom of my heart."

'He's giving me the chills,' Miku thinks while scooting closer to Senku. Senku realizes how uncomfortable Miku is and lets her stay by his side.

"A guy that compliments another guy face to face is either gay or a tactician. What do you want to say," Senku asks.

"You're reading into it too much, really. You could end up recreating modern civilization from scratch. Yeah, I just thought that" Tsukasa says.

Senku looks at Miku and although Miku was never really close with Senku, this past year she grew to understand Senku. Miku knew what Senku was asking her to do.

Taiju came back with more seashells, "So what's the fourth way? You said there were 4 important ways to use seashells."

"Umm Taiju, Senku only said three," Miku says shyly.

"What?! Was it 3? Even my memory is messed up," Taiju exclaims.

Later on Senku, Miku and Tsukasa were at the beach. Tsukasa started talking about how in the stone world everything is free. He told the story of a boy who was collecting seashells to make a necklace for his sister who had to undergo surgery. He told of how she loved the little mermaid. He said how the statue next to him looked like the middle-aged man who had a fishing permit in the area said that the boy was stealing the seashells. The man hit the boy until his face changed. The boy couldn't make the seashell necklace for his sister.

Then Tsukasa smashed the statues head into pieces. Miku gasp and hugged Senku's arm. Senku grabbed Miku's arm trying to comfort the girl.

"I hope you understand what you are doing. You just killed a human Tsukasa," Senku said.

"I fully understand. Senku are you planning on saving everybody. Even the old people with their rotten hearts? At first, they might be grateful but when civilization returns without a doubt. They'll say "This was my land," "Pay your rent! Pay your taxes!" They'll start profiting from the weak again. I won't allow it," Tsukasa states.

Miku squeezes Senku's arm and Senku squeezes back.

"This stone world is a paradise that is not yet tainted. Let's just revive the innocent young like Miku here. We'll live together with nature, which doesn't belong to someone else. It's an opportunity to cleanse humanity. Don't you think so too? Senku? Miku," Tsukasa asks.

Miku glares at Tsukasa, "As if we'd ever agree with you."

"We are technology-loving kids. I myself am excited by mecha, space, and Doraemon. With Miku's help, we will save all of humanity without exception. With the power of science," Senku states.
