Chapter 23

In the end, Senku and Chrome ended up making piles of glass that look all squished together. Miku, on the other hand, made some bowls and vases but ended up getting cracked.

"Looks like Miku wins," Kohaku states.

"Her glass broke though," Chrome complained.

"At least she made something that looks like we could use," Kohaku says back.

Senku looks at Miku and pats her head, "You did good Miku."

Miku blushes, "Well I'm not a craftsman so it'll take time to make any glass containers that don't break. Besides this means I get to boss you around for a full day!"

Senku sighs, "Yeah yeah. Still, it'll take us months to make anything decent."

"We don't have much time. Ruri's health is on the line," Kohaku says.

"Wait, Miku did you say craftsman?" Chrome questions.

Sometime later Chrome came back with a tied up old man.

"Great, now we're abducting villagers," Miku says with her arms crossed.

"Relax Miku. We need all the help we can get," Senku says while walking over where Chrome and the old man was.

Chrome and Senku tried to convince the man, whose name was Kasek or Grandpa Kasek, to help them and it wasn't until Miku showed him the piles of glass that the old man started to take an interest.

Chrome tried to demonstrate however failed miserably. Next was Senku's turn which Miku could see Kasek getting triggered.

Miku leaned down and said, "They're not doing it on purpose to get you riled up, they both are just terrible at it."

"You're telling me you can do better?" Kasek asked.

Miku showed him some of the bowls and vases she made earlier. And Kasek agreed they were way better than what the boys were producing.

"You're on your way to becoming a great craftsman. Now," Kasek says while breaking out of the rope he was tied up in, "Allow me to take over!!"

Chrome, Senku, and Miku were shocked at how the old man had muscles. Kasek quickly went to work on and ended up making a flask.

"Now all we need is a lab," Senku states.

"Already on it," Miku says.

She leads everyone over to a pile of logs.

"Kohaku and I took the liberty of doing some of the hard work," Miku says shyly.

Senku looks at Miku starstruck. 'That girl really is amazing.'

Soon everyone got to work on building the lab. Once it was finished they all looked inside. Senku took a moment to look around. He remembers when he got lab equipment for Christmas. He took Miku's hand and gave it a squeeze.

He whispered in a low voice so only she could hear, "I'm glad you're here Miku. You're very important to me."

Miku blushes and smiles at him, "Well, you need a lab assistant don't you."

Senku just shakes his head and places a hand over his heart. 'Now is not the time for this.'

Time Skip

Sometime later Senku pulled Miku aside and told her they needed to gather raw materials. Specifically Sulfuric acid. So Senku, Chrome, Kohaku, and Ginrou went off to find this while Miku stayed behind.
