***Extra-long chapter!! Hope you all like it!*** ~MiniChewiereads
The boys came back, unable to enter the village.
"Well we can finally make iron," Miku says.
"That black sand we gathered at the river will turn into "iron?" Suika asked.
"Right, after mixing four parts iron sand with one part charcoal you just heat it up," Senku explains.
"Wow so simple," Chrome says.
"Umm not exactly. We have one minor problem," Miku says.
"She's right. When you burn wood the flame's temperature is 700 degrees at best," Senku explains.
"Yeah and to turn iron sand into iron we need 1,500 degrees," Miku says sadly.
"Then it's not nearly enough, is it? What should we do?" asked Kohaku.
"Well have to pump air non-stop o be able to provide oxygen constantly. We'll do this by using Twinhits," Miku says while passing out the said item.
A couple of hours later all five were exhausted and on the ground.
"We need more manpower," Miku says.
"Agreed," Senku says.
After some deliberation, Suika became Detective Suika and went off to find out what the villagers want. In the meantime, Kohaku collected more iron sand while Chrome, Senku, and Miku worked on the furnace. Later that night Suika came back and told everyone what the villagers wanted. The sparkling sisters wanted boyfriends which would be impossible with science.
"From the way I look at it you're kind of a ladykiller Senku. Am I right Miku?" Kohaku asks giving Miku a knowing smile.
Senku looks at Miku and finds her completely red.
"Kukuku don't tell me you're falling in love Miku. I thought your head was full of science," Senku says.
Miku got up and excused herself leaving Senku confused as to why Miku was acting this way. The only thing he can think of is that she is upset by his comment. He would have to ask Miku about it later. Miku had gone up to the storehouse and went to bed.
'Senku needs to think before he speaks!' Miku thought.
The next day Senku had the bright idea to make food saying, "Food = Science."
"Senku I have packed you lunch since middle school. What bumped your head and made you think that you can cook?" Miku asks with her arms crossed.
Senku glared at Miku only to realize what Suika was holding. Miku looks to where Senku was looking at and realizes what he was going to make.
"Suika, what is that you've got there?" Senku asked.
"Oh, this? This is Suika's friend's Chalk the dog's favorite toy! It's a green Dogtail!"Suika exclaimed.
"You mean a green Foxtail," Miku says.
"With Foxtails, we might just be able to make it! This is something all the humans of our old world loved. It was the world's greatest delicacy! We're gonna make it from zero! A primitive survival gourmet! Now this is getting me excited!!" Senku says.
"You can't possibly be thinking of eating these Foxtails, are you? I think I'll pass," Kohaku comments.
"Yeah same here," Miku says.
"Come on Miku. After all these years I'm finally making you food," Senku says.
"As happy as I am, I'll pass this time," Miku said with a shy smile.
After that, Senku was determined to make the best ramen ever. Once Senku prepared the foxtail flour and made ramen it was time for the taste test. First Chrome tried it and he went insane afterward. Then Suika and Kohaku tried it and they loved it as well. Finally, it was Senku and Miku's turn. Just as Miku had thought it wasn't the best test in the world. However, when Miku looked over at Senku she noticed he was a bit disappointed. Then she did something she never thought she would do. She bent over and gave Senku a kiss on the cheek.
"Don't worry Senku. It was the thought that counts," Miku says with a smile.
Senku had on the biggest blush ever. His heart started beating so fast. He quickly shook his head to rid himself of the thoughts that were going through his head.
"Well they like it so that means the villagers will too. Come on Miku, let us win over this village with ramen," Senku says while holding a hand out to her.
Miku gladly took his hand and gathered up what they needed for the village. The five of them made their way over to the bridge since they can't go into the village. While everyone came over and had a bowl of ramen, Miku served someone that wasn't from the village. She wouldn't have noticed if he hadn't spoken English.
"It's a shame there's no cola to go with this," the stranger said.
Miku froze in her spot and just nodded in agreement. She then looked over at Senku and noticed that he realized there was an intruder. A moment later Ginrou, Kinrou, and Kohaku surrounded the intruder.
"Answer truthfully. Don't even think about lying or I'll cut your throat open right here and now. Are you one of those long-haired man's people?" Kohaku stated and asked.
"Mmm getting tied up by a girl cutie like you might not be so bad at all but I think you're mistaking me for someone else. I have no idea who this long-haired man is. Ever since I broke free from the stone I've been all on my own," the stranger said.
"He seems familiar," Miku comments to Senku.
"I thought I'd seen your face somewhere before. Asagiri Gen!" Senku says while addressing the stranger.
"An acquaintance of yours?" asked Kohaku.
"Not even for 1MM," Senku says.
"I remember now. He's a magician that writes psychology books that Senku doesn't like," Miku explains.
"Yeah they're garbage," Senku says.
"Oh, you've read them? I'm happy to hear that but garbage? That's pretty harsh. Please call me a mentalist," Gen says.
Senku gave Miku a look and she nodded already knowing where this was going. Miku went on to explain to everyone that the ramen wasn't free and that they would have to work for it.
