Chapter 24

***I'm so sorry for the long wait. I tries to make this chapter extra long. As you know the manga is still going and season 2 isn't out yet. This means I will stop where season 1 ends as to not spoil anything. There are about 6 episodes left and I might make the chapters longer. If you guys want shorter chapters, let me know. Kasek and Miku went over to a small waterfall that was nearby and built a water wheel of sorts. Gen asked what it was for and Miku just said to be patient. Later in the evening, everyone returned with not only alcohol but with vinegar as well.

However, Miku did not like how the tournament ended. Of course, she was happy they won but she didn't like the fact that Senku had to get married. Even if Senku got divorced Miku couldn't be near him.

Miku decided to do her own projects while Senku and the others finished the medicine. Senku was not happy that Miku wasn't helping but after getting yelled at and getting punched in the arm he decided to leave her alone.

The following day Miku brought Gen along to the small waterfall.

"So what do we need the flasks for?" Gen asked.

Miku just smiles at him, "You'll see."

After pouring out what was in the bamboo cylinder Gen was overjoyed to find that Miku had made carbon dioxide. Once they filled the two flasks Gen ran all the way to Senku.

Miku just sat by the waterfall listening to the calm water.

"Something on your mind?"

Miku turns around and sees Kasek. She turns back to watch the water, "How could you tell?"

"My dear I've seen many things in my life. I know that expression has to do with a boy," Kasek said.

Miku just smiles at him. They continued to talk for a while until Gen came back to get Miku.

"By the way Miku thank you for making me that carbon dioxide so that I could enjoy a nice cola."

Miku smirks, "When did I say I was making it for you."

Gen smiles, "You know you and Senku are a lot alike. You two show great chemistry together."

"I know," Miku didn't say anything after that and let Gen pull her all the way to the lab where Senku had a rat on the table.

"Ah Miku finally. Come help me with this dissection."

After trying to figure out what bacteria Ruri might have Suika came running up to them that Ruri got worse. It wasn't until Senku and Miku got there that they finally understood what Ruri had.

Pneumonia.

Senku announced that the medicine would work. The Cheif tried to attack Senku but Kohaku explained to her father that Senku wasn't using sorcery, it was science.

A few days later Ruri was healthy and back on her feet again. Later in the evening, the Cheif made an announcement.

"Everyone!! Starting from today this man, Senku, is Ishigami Village's new Chief!!"

Senku and Miku looked at each other until Ruri explained that she knew from the very beginning who Senku was. She went on to say that the 100th story is called Ishigami Senku.

Ruri went on to tell the story of Senku's father and the other five that survived. How the village were descendants of those six. Kohaku freaked out thinking they were all related to Senku but Miku explained that they were not blood-related.

Ruri looked over at Miku and said, "You must be Senku's girlfriend. It's a pleasure to meet you. In one of the stories Senku's father states how close you and Senku were."

"..."

"..."

"WHAT!?!"

Senku and Miku turned bright red and looked at each other.

"When did you tell your dad we were together?" Miku questioned.

Senku for once in his life didn't know what to say. Sure he was always happy to hang out with her. Yes, he did mention how fun it is to have Miku around. 'The old man must have thought we were together.' At this moment all Senku could do was just stare at Miku with a huge blush on his face.

Everyone around them just had knowing looks.

"So shall we go join the festivities?" suggested Ruri.

Everyone went to join in celebrating the new Cheif. Meanwhile, Ruri took Miku and Senku over to the graveyard.

"Why am I coming along?" Miku asked.

"Because I want you to," Senku says while pulling Miku along.

Ruri explained where the founders were buried and where Senku's father was.

Ruri went back to the festivities while Miku and Senku stayed behind. Senku went up to his father's grave and stood in front of it. Miku noticed Senku shaking slightly. She went up behind him and wrapped her arms around him.

"You know Miku you've always been there for me."

Miku just stood still and listened.

"I want you to know that I appreciate you and admire your intelligence. I'm happy that I have a girl like you by my side."

Miku felt like she could melt. Her heartbeat was so loud she was afraid Senku would hear.

Senku turned around and hugged Miku, "I would be happy if you continue to be my partner."

Miku blushed, 'He's not serious right. Is this a confession or is he just being his Senku self.'

The two didn't say anything after that and returned to the party.

Once they arrived Senku asked Gen, "So why don't we hear it mentalist? What happened in the Empire of Tsukasa?"

Gen smiled creepily, "They're coming. Tsukasa and the others."

"Kukuku, at last... it's no longer the time for us to be charmed by the power of the Kingdom of Science. This is thrilling!!"

Senku then looked over at Miku, "Looks like we're going to need your military background Miku."

At that moment Ginrou came running over yelling, "Everyone!!! The enemy is here!!!"

Everything happened so fast.

Everyone ran over to the bridge only to see Kinrou fighting with someone while yelling at Ginrou to cut the bridge.

Gen quickly realized who Kinrou was fighting with, "Wait! The one Kinrou is fighting is Hyouga!!"

Kinrou took a hit to the stomach and was soon hanging off the bridge.

"Senku please tell me you have a plan?" asked Miku.

Senku grabbed Kasek metal pipe and poured the last of the gunpowder in it. It was to imitate the sound of an actual gun while Magma threw a rock at Hyouga to make it seem like it actually worked.

While Gen ran and scared off the other men that were with Hyouga, Hyouga himself stayed back a bit.

"Kukuku you suckers were just too damn slow. We completed these a loong time ago," Senku said.

"Oh really... well I'm sure we'll all be over the moon. Tsukasa too," Hyouga said.

"Kukuku go and tell Tsukasa that Ishigami Senku is still alive!!" Senku exclaimed.

"I'll make sure to give him the message. I'll also let him know where his little crush is as well," Hyouga said while walking off.

"Wait, did he just say Tsukasa has a crush on me?!" Miku yelled out.

Senku grabs Miku's hand, "Don't worry Miku. Everything will turn out ok."
