Chapter 13

After Taiju calmed down, Senku explained that Taiju and Yuzuriha were going to infiltrate the Tsukasa empire and gather information. Senku went on to say that they needed to make a revolutionary army and fight Tsukasa with science.

"Hold on a moment. What about Miku?" Yuzuriha asked.

"Well, I need an assistant. Especially if I'm going to build machines later on," Senku says.

"All I heard was machines. I'm in," Miku says.

Yuzuriha laughs, "Hahaha, oh Miku you and your machines. You sure that's the only reason you wanna go with Senku?"

Miku blushes and says, "Y-yup no other r-reason."

"So then starting now we'll be fighting separately," Taiju states.

"Kukuku exactly. Here comes the sad goodbye overflowing with tears," Senku says.

Miku hugs Yuzuriha and holds onto her tight. Miku let go and looks over at Taiju, "Take good care of her."

Taiju and Yuzuriha went one way and Senku and Miku went another way.

"You and Taiju parted so easily," Miku said.

"We understand each other. Besides, we'll see each other again," Senku says.

"SENKU!"

Miku and Senku turn around and see Taiju holding a fist in the air. Senku takes the branch and makes a flag and holds it up. With that Miku and Senku continue on their journey. They walked for a bit until Miku spoke up.

"Hey Senku. C-can I ask you s-something?"

Senku looks at Miku giving her his attention.

"U-umm well, I was wondering why you didn't want me to go with the others?" Miku asked.

Senku paused for a moment. He honestly didn't know why. It would have been more logical for him to send Miku with the others. However, before he could answer they hear a big crash. Looking over to where the noise is coming from they see a tree fall. Senku and Miku ran over and found a girl underneath a tree. She had blond hair and blue eyes.

The girl noticed Senku and Miku and said, "You two!! You two are the gentleman sorcerer and warrior girl that protected that woman. You sorcerer survived."

Miku ran and was by her side in seconds. Miku started to asses the situation.

"Are you all right? Do you feel like you broke any bones? There's no time to waste. We can help you but we have to know if you're injured or not?!" Miku states.

The blond girl looks at Miku and responses, "My organs and bones are fine. I can hold out!"

Miku nods and looks at Senku, "It would be unsafe to just blow up the tree. Our only other option is to lift it. Lifting it from one side should be enough."

Senku nods in agreement and says, "Three should be enough. I'll get started on making the pulleys and you make the rope."

"Alright let's get started," Miku says happily.

Soon enough the two had everything ready and started to assemble the pulley. Miku noticed the blond girl looking at Senku. Miku felt something pull at her heart but ignored it. 'I have to help her right now.' Miku thought.

Once Senku and Miku got the tree off of the girl, the girl said, "My name is Kohaku. I think I may have tooooootally fallen for you Sorcerer."

Senku looked at her with a disgusted weirded out look saying, "Uuuggh. Those words bothersome enough to wanna die. And seriously suddenly falling in love with someone in an emergency like this?!"

Kohaku pointed at Senku saying, "That's not what I meant at all!!! What I was trying to say was that I like people like you and want to work together."

"Ah in that case I'm glad. Love on the mind is the root of the most illogical of problems," Senku says.

Poor Miku was just gathering the pulley materials while trying not to cry. 'Is that what Senku really thinks of love? If that's what he thinks then do I even have a chance?" Miku thought.
