Chapter 25

***I DIDN'T ABANDON THIS STORY!!! I had writer's block and lost inspiration for this story but I am back. We are sadly getting close to the end of season 1. I hope you all have enjoyed this story. I do plan on continuing however, would you all like for me to continue in this book or make a new one. Please enjoy this chapter and again thank you all for the support on this story.  Miku quickly helped Kohaku pull Kinrou up onto the bridge. Miku looked over Kinrou's wounds.

"Senku are you able to make some acetanilide?"

Senku handed over the acetanilide and Miku quickly made Kinrou's take it. Miku then helped Kohaku carry Kinrou all the way to the storehouse so Miku can wrap him up.

Then the next day...

"I'm completely healed," Kinrou says while climbing down the ladder.

"NO YOU'RE NOT! GET BACK HERE!" Miku demanded.

Miku looked down the ladder at Kinrou only to see him make a face.

"See."

"I would listen to Miku if I were you," Senku says.

"As a guard, I can't just lie around by myself all day. We have no idea when that group from before might attack us again," Kinrou explains.

"Ah well that's not quite true. I can predict when that lot will come back," Senku says.

"Since they think we have guns they will most likely wait until it storms," Miku explains.

Senku looks at Miku amazed at her response. He shook his head and said, "So this means that we have to prepare. Any ideas Miku?"

Miku smiles at him, "I have a few ideas."

That day and the following day Miku explained her plan to Senku and the others.

Miku had come up with the idea to make swords saying, "The better weapons we have the better our chances at offense. I believe we have the materials to upgrade to swords."

"And what kind of sword did you have in mind?" Senku asked.

Miku smiles, "Well we have to go back to our roots."

"You plan to make stone swords?" Gen asked.

"Not exactly. We have iron so I was thinking more about making Japanese swords," Miku explains.

Seku called Kasek over and Miku explained to him how to make the sword.

On the third day, there seemed to be a lot of wind while Senku was walking towards the village. He paused for a moment and that was when they attacked. The men didn't get too close to Senku as the villagers came out with Japanese swords and defended him.

The men were very surprised seeing that the villagers had better weapons than them. Suddenly Hyouga began to attack with his bamboo spear. Despite having improved weapons the villagers were no match for Hyouga's spear. Thankfully before he could land a blow on Kohaku the spear broke. It was then Hyouga realized that Gen was a traitor.

Senku had asked Suika, despite Miku's protest, to deliver something to Gen while Gen was with Hyouga's group. Gen had cut the tip of the spear so that it was fragile enough to break.

However, the small victory was not able to be celebrated. Hyouga pointed out this was only a diversion.

Everyone quickly looked over towards the village and saw it on fire. Senku and the others saw Miku with a sword in hand leading the children away from the fire. Senku gave a sigh, happy that Miku's military background came in handy.
