Chapter 8

Tensions were high. The two girls hold onto each other while Taiju stands in front of them.

'Kukuku, I'm not surprised he's showing no intention of hiding his murders after showing his intentions to Miku. In other words, they're all nothing more than a nuisance to him.' Senku thought.

'Damn. If only we had weapons besides spears. There's no way we would win in hand to hand combat. In the stone world, it's physical strength that is superior. I hope Senku thinks of a way out of this.' Miku thought.

Taiju notices Tsukasa drops pieces of stone.

"Senku, if anything happens, take care of Miku and Yuzuriha. I will stop Tsukasa," Taiju exclaims then runs towards Tsukasa.

'Omg omg omg omg,' Miku starts to freak out.

Senku quickly pulls out a crossbow and fires next to Tsukasa to try and stop the fight. Tsukasa easily catches it and turns around and kicks Taiju. Taiju easily takes the hit.

Shocked Tsukasa says, "This is the first time I've meet someone who can still stand after taking my kick. But before that, it's not that you couldn't attack me but that you didn't intend to. Why," Tsukasa said.

"I will not hit people! No matter how much you punch or kick me I won't care! In exchange stop breaking the statues Tsukasa! Killing people is bad," Taiju yells.

Miku, Senku, and Yuzuriha look at Taiju stunned.

"Taiju if I understand your request, because you won't fight back I can continue to beat you up. I will stop breaking statues. Is that right?" Tsukasa says.

"That's right," Taiju yelled.

"I don't understand your point. There's no exchange at all. What if you try to stop me?" Tsukasa said.

Taiju yelled back, "No matter how much I'm attacked I won't stop trying to stop you!!!"

Tsukasa looks over at the two girls, "What about that girl you just revived? Miku seems to be protective of her. What if I said, "I'll kill Yuzuriha?"

Miku stands in front of Yuzuriha thinking, 'I won't let him hurt my friend. I'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe.'

Taiju too quickly stands in front of the two girls.

'So that's it. I've been made a hostage! And because of that Senku-kun said, 'It's simply that running is the most logical option' Yuzuriha thought.

Suddenly Taiju collapses onto the ground.

"So it did affect him," Senku says.

"Taiju!?" Yuzuriha yells going to Taiju's side.

Miku quickly joins her and assesses the injury.

"He's bleeding a lot. However, it doesn't look like he has any more injuries. He'll need to rest for a few days," Miku says.

"Let's stop the quarrel among us. Taiju tried to protect Yuzuriha even more than the statues of strangers. I will do what I must and nothing will get in my way," Tsukasa says while walking into the forest.

After Tsukasa left Senku spoke up.

"The crossbow fires at 200 km per hour," Senku says.

Yuzuriha looks at him shocked, "He grabbed it with just a swish."

Miku looks up from inspecting Taiju, "Don't be surprised. With his physical ability catching an arrow is probably child's play. I've seen it done before." Miku then looks over at Senku, "So what now Senku?"

"Now the only answer is to move civilization forward. There's only one thing that can stop Tsukasa. The greatest human invention," Senku explains.

Taiju wakes up and yells, "The smartphone."

Miku then says, "No! A smartphone would be useless to have. It has to be a weapon."

"Miku's right. A gun in other words. We're going to make gunpowder," Senku says, "The stone age was 2 million years ago. The invention of gunpowder was relatively recent, 700 CE. That means with this we're warping civilization forward 1,993,700 years! This is exciting."

"For some reason I don't trust you with gunpowder," Miku says.
