Chapter 12

After successfully escaping Tsukasa the three friends run as far as they could. Soon it started to rain.

'Damn it. We need to find shelter and fast.' Miku thought. She looked around and called out to Taiju and Yuzuriha. Miku guided them over to a big tree.

"Place Senku down. Carefully," Miku says.

Taiju does as she says and he begins doing chest compressions on Senku. Yuzuriha looks over at Miku and asks, "Miku what are we going to do?"

Miku wipes away the last of her tears and says, "There's not much we can do."

'Senku said to trust him. Senku's not the type of person to sacrifice himself.' Miku thought. Then she remembered something about his neck.

"Taiju flip Senku over," Miku said.

Taiju flips Senku over and Taiju and Yuzuriha see that on the back of Senku's neck there's some stone left.

"Senku knew what he was doing right from the beginning," Miku says while getting the depetrification formula out.

Miku hands it over to Taiju so he could pour it. It took a couple of minutes but the stone broke eventually.

"The petrification has come undone! So then just maybe!" says Yuzuriha.

"RRAAAGH! Wake up!! You would never die in a place like this! Not now! I just know it! Senku... you.. You're humanity's and civilization's star of hope!!! Please come back!!! Open your eyes!! SENKUUUU!!!" Taiju yells.

"Please Senku. Please wake up. I never got to tell you how much I love you," Miku says sadly. Yuzuriha hugs her friends and the two girls hold each other close while Taiju cries out for Senku to wake up.

Soon the rain stopped. The three friends look up towards the sky.

"The rain has let up," says Taiju.

"Yeah, which means our cover is gone," Miku says.

"The camouflage is gone. We can't be shouting out loudly anymore. If Tsukasa hears us it'll be over just like that."

"Y-you're right," Taiju says.

"He's not already on his way is he?" asks Yuzuriha.

The three friends turn around and see Senku standing up.

"Kukuku Good job Miku. You remembered about my neck. You get 10 billion points" Senku says.

"Sen.." Yuzuriha starts.

"Ku!!!!" Taiju finishes.

Taiju runs over and hugs Senku. Unfortunately, Taiju squeezes Senku to much. Miku runs over and starts hitting Taiju.

"Taiju let him go you're hurting him!," Miku yells.

Senku kicks Taiju off of him and yells, "What my cervical plexus wasn't enough?! Gonna crush my entire body this time?! You wanna die punk?!

Once Senku was finally able to breathe he looks up only to get slapped in the face. Senku holds his left cheek while looking at Miku. The girl had tears in her eyes and her cheeks were flushed.

"Never make me worry like that ever again. You hear me Senku!" Miku yells.

Senku nods and pats her head, "I promise."

Miku smiles at Senku and quickly remembers something.

"Yuzuriha didn't you have something for Senku," Miku says.

Yuzuriha remembers what Miku is talking about and reaches into the bag for something. Yuzuriha pulls out a flag with a rocketship on it. Although to Senku it looked nothing like a rocket. Yuzuriha then proceeded to make a splint for Senku even though Senku told her he didn't need one.

"Kukuku, Professor Senku's life-risking self-experiment was a success. The restoration abilities of the depetrification process are no joke at all!" Senku states.

"Waahahaha man to think even though the petrification caused us so many troubles that thanks to that petrification you'd be healed like this. It's like what Miku said back when we made soap and it seems all the more true with this petrification in place of a doctor, we have this stone of life Dr. Stone!!" Taiju says.

Miku smiled and said, "You're right Taiju."

The four friends then started to cover up their tracks. Taiju gathered up materials, Miku and Senku took branches and started to sweep the dirt to cover their footprints. Yuzuriha spoke up while holding the arm of a statue, "I wonder if your neck could be healed then maybe these broken statues could also be reattached if we used some restoration formula on them! Or something like that."

Senku replies, "I tried it on some of them at first but all that came back were broken up corpses but with so much restoration power why..."

Miku looks over at Senku and sees him in deep thought.

"Yuzuriha for that crude-minded Taiju it'd be 10 billion percent impossible but for you, the ultra-skilled handicraft club member, you're the only one that could do this. I've got a mission for you. One so difficult enough to make you wanna die. Can you do it?" Senku says.

Senku goes over and whispers a plan to Yuzuriha. She looks shocked at what Senku wants her to do.

"Waaaaaooooo. That sounds really seriously crazily rough but I'll do it," Yuzuriha says.

"Wow Yuzuriha. You make it sound so easy," Miku says.

"Handicrafts are all in your persistence and perseverance after all," Yuzuriha replies.

Taiju speaks up, "What's with the secrets? Come on, that's not fair! Let me in on it!"

Yuzuriha looks over at Taiju and says, "Well, I was thinking maybe we should head back over to join Tsukasa."

"Ah, I see! We're going back to Tsukasa!" Taiju says.

Senku looks over at Miku and sees her covering her ears. And he soon found out why. Taiju started to yell at Yuzuriha about going back.
