Chapter 4

Miku was working on the finishing touches on Taiju's clothes. Senku and Miku didn't know when Taiju would wake up so she decided to prepare clothes for him. Miku actually sewed winter clothes for the three of them. Although, the clothes will have to be altered it's a start. Senku had gone out to collect firewood and other materials.

Miku soon heard Senku's voice and another voice that was all too familiar.

"Senku, you made this from scratch!!!"

"I had some help from a friend," Senku said.

Miku looks up and sees Taiju walking behind Senku.

"We need more manpower. The days have gone by just making the base for living. But to advance civilization you need muscle freaks. Taiju you bastard, I was 1 billion percent sure you would survive. You decided to tell Yuzuriha about your feelings! A half-assed man like you? Who can't even hold out for a couple of thousand years? That's not who you are is it!?!"

"Yeah, of course not," Taiju exclaimed.

Taiju then noticed Miku.

"Miku!!! You're alive too!!!"

Taiju ran over to Miku to try and give her a hug completely forgetting he's butt naked. Miku just blushes and runs away from Taiju yelling, "Taiju no! You're naked!"

Later in the night after Taiju is finally in some clothes, Miku prepares dinner for the three of them.

"Wow, Miku. You might be as good as Yuzuriha at sewing," Taiju says.

Miku smiles, "Thank you Taiju. I just do what I can."

"So it just has been you and Senku for a while now," Taiju asks.

"Yes. I actually woke up a month before Senku," Miku replies.

" Who would have thought we would have another strong person on our side. And one who is smart too," Taiju says.

Miku just smiles, "I'm just an engineer who has some survival and military skills on her side. I'm nothing special."

"What?! Don't say that. You're totally fun to hang out with. Yuzuriha says you are either reading books, building or hanging out with her and Nana," Taiju says.

Miku's smile drops. 'That's right. Nana and Yuzuriha are both still stone somewhere.' Miku thought. She is brought back by Senku petting her head.

"Don't worry Miku. Us three high schoolers are going to recreate civilization from scratch. This is so exciting."

The next day Taiju goes out to collect food and brings back a huge haul. While Senku is stunned at Taiju's level of endurance, Miku starts to separate the plants.

"European destroying angel, poisonous. Hypsizygus Marmoreus, edible. Fly Amanita, poisonous. If the mushrooms look like they came straight out of Mario don't pick them. Mugwort, edible. Wolf's Bane....Um.... are you trying to kill someone Taiju," Miku says.

"What? Of course not. Hey, how do you know which ones are edible," Taiju asks.

"Part of our training when my grandfather would take us camping. He's a drill sergeant so he has expectations," Miku response.

After a quick meal, Taiju went out to gather more food. Senku later went out to check on the jar that he and Miku left in the cave. Later on, while Miku was organizing some supplies Senku and Taiju finally came back. Senku went into his lab and came back out with some nitric acid and a swallow.

"So if we put this something acid the rock will melt and it will revive," Taiju asks.

"It's not that simple. If it was Senku wouldn't be so obsessed with this experiment," Miku said.

Senku poured the liquid on the swallow but like the rest of the results, the swallow didn't break.

"She's right. I've already experimented a lot between changing the methods and objects. Many times, dozens of times," Senku says while going into the lab. Miku and Taiju follow him inside.

"We sadly don't have the equipment to research anything. So we're stuck we just making hypotheses and testing them," Miku says.

"If we had some booze," Senku says while thinking. "If we had alcohol from booze which is ethanol. We could, by mixing nitric acid with ethanol, make some Nital. It's an industrial etching liquid."

"What did you just say, Senku," Taiju said.

"Huh? Nital. It takes the feral grain boundary of the.....," Senku starts but gets cut off by Taiju.

"No, I don't understand any of that. If we had some booze. Can we make some wine using grapes," Taiju holds up grapes and shows Miku and Senku.

"Wow. Where did you find those," Miku asked amazed.

"Over in that direction," Taiju points where he went found the grapes.

Miku goes and grabs a basket.

"Come on then Taiju. Let's go pick some grapes."
