CHAPTER 18: I Found Love

I finally had arrived at the bar after I spoke with my work which I had told her the truth in where I was. Then I was really happy to hear there was someone I was supposed to fight at the last minute tonight that ended up getting food poisoning and caused them to cancel the fight so I was really happy.

When I pulled up the bar, I already knew the bouncers so I didn't need the ticket anyways but didn't want to tell Karli that.

I knew I was a little late and could hear music playing and assumed it was him and while trying to look through the crowd for her, I noticed her dancing in the middle of the crowd and before making my way through the sea of people to get to her, I heard some of the song but some of it that I heard, it sounded like he was singing about Karli but then I quickly shook that thought from out of my head and decided to surprise her which I did. He really wasn't all so bad.

After he had finished, we walked up to him and we all chatted for a moment and when I noticed him flirting with Karli a little bit as she held my hand and kept showing the guy that I was hers, which I loved, that's why I also had kept my cool.

I congratulated and complimented him on the music and how good he was. He smiled and thanked me but in a nice gesture and non genuine way.

So I next pulled her closer to my side and then he offers to buy us all some drinks and that's when I stop it.

"Sorry but I had planned to take my girl out to grab something to eat. I haven't seen her all day so..." I began.

He scowls at me and of course Karli doesn't see it because she's talking to the drummer.

"Okay." He says.

"Let's go babe." I tell Karli and she starts saying 'bye' to everyone before we then head out.

"I'm so glad you came baby." She tells me.

"Well of course. I'm sorry it was at the last song though." I apologize right as we get to the car.

"I don't care. I was just happy you came at all. That's all that matters." She smiles and leans in to kiss me.

After she gets into the car, I close the door and get in also then start driving off to her favorite taco shop that's always opened late.

While eating some tacos in the car, we talked about our days to each other and then I felt as though I had to confess something to her.

"I'm sorry. There's something I have to tell you. I don't want you to freak out but understand it's the truth." I began to say.

She then takes a drink and then turns in her seat to look at me.

"Okay, shoot." She says.

I then take in a breath and let it out right before I say anything.

"I'm in love with you." I tell her.

There's a moment of silence and right as soon as I feel like she might cry or hit me or tell me it's too soon, anything bad really, she surprises me.

"I'm in love with you too." She tells me.

"Really? You aren't just saying that because I said it?" I ask to make sure.

"No, I mean it." She smiles at me. "I've been in love with you for a while now." She says.

"Me too." I tell her with a smile.

We both then lean forward and give each other a kiss.

I can't believe not only am I in love but that I found someone who has made me believe in it too.
